বাংলাদেশে IELTS Preparation নিয়ে অনেক বিভ্রান্তি আছে । বিশেষ করে English Medium এ পড়া বাচ্চারা যাদের ওনেক ভালো ব্যান্ড স্কোর করার কথা, অনেকেই সেটা করতে পারছেনা। যার অনেকগুলো কারন আছে। প্রথমত IELTS পরীক্ষা Cambridge অথবা Pearson Edexcel মত না, যেটা বেশিরভাগ students রা বুঝতে পারেনা। IELTS পরীক্ষার tricks and technique অনেকখানি ভিন্ন। সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা হচ্ছে individual need based guidance পাওয়া টা। ঢাকার প্রায় সবগুলো IELTS Coaching center এর ই রয়েছে সস্তা ব্যবসায়িক মনমানসিকতা । এরাই IELTS student দের সবচেয়ে বড় ক্ষতি করে। আপনি যখন ই কোন Coaching center যাবেন , ওরা বলবে আগামি সপ্তাহেই একটা ব্যাচ শুরু হচ্ছে ভর্তি হয়ে যান। আপনি ভর্তি হওয়ার পর জানবেন এই ব্যাচ আর ও দুই মাস আগে শুরু হয়েছে, যখন যাকে পাচ্ছে তাকে ই ধরে মিথ্যা বলে একই ব্যাচে ডুকিয়ে দিচ্ছে। আপনি কোন কিছুতে তাল মেলাতে পারবেন না। একসময় মনে হবে আমাকে IELTS দিয়ে হবেনা। অন্যদিকে আপনি যদি সত্যিই নতুন ব্যাচ এ ভর্তি হোন ও ওরা কখনই আপনার Strength টা কোথায় অথবা কোন গুলো Skill গুলো আগে ঠিক করতে হবে খুজতে যাবে না। ওরা সবাইকে একই নিয়মে পড়িয়ে যাবে যদিও প্রত্যেকের প্রয়োজন ভিন্ন। সবচেয়ে বড় কথা আপনার individual need খুজার সময় ই ওদের নেই। ২৫-৩০ জনের ব্যাচে সেটা করা ও সম্ভব না।
