গুরুতর দুঃখের সাথে আমরা জানাচ্ছি যে বাংলাদেশের কবিতার জগতে অনন্য প্রতিভাধর, অমর পঙ্ক্তি "এখন যৌবন যার মিছিলে যাবার তার শ্রেষ্ঠ সময়" এর স্রষ্টা কবি হেলাল হাফিজ আর আমাদের মাঝে নেই। ১৩ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৪, বেলা আড়াইটার দিকে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (বিএসএমএমইউ) হাসপাতালে তাকে নিয়ে এলে ডাক্তাররা জানান তিনি ইতমধ্যে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেছেন।

বরেণ্য রবীন্দ্রসংগীতশিল্পী পাপিয়া সারোয়ার আর নেই :(

একুশে পদকপ্রাপ্ত বিশিষ্ট রবীন্দ্রসংগীতশিল্পী পাপিয়া সারোয়ার আজ সকালে রাজধানীর একটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে শেষনিশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেছেন। বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল আটটায় তাঁর মৃত্যুর খবরটি নিশ্চিত করা হয়।

বিগত কয়েক বছর ধরে ক্যানসারে ভুগছিলেন তিনি। গত মাসে ঢাকার বসুন্ধরা আবাসিক এলাকার একটি হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন ছিলেন। পরে তাঁকে তেজগাঁওয়ের আরেকটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে স্থানান্তর করা হয়। চিকিৎসকদের সব প্রচেষ্টা ব্যর্থ করে তিনি চলে যান না ফেরার দেশে। মৃত্যুকালে তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৭২ বছর। তিনি স্বামী ও দুই সন্তান রেখে গেছেন।

পাপিয়া সারোয়ারের জীবন ও কর্ম:

১৯৫২ সালের ২১ নভেম্বর বরিশালে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন পাপিয়া সারোয়ার। ছোটবেলা থেকেই রবীন্দ্রনাথের গানে গভীর অনুরাগী ছিলেন। ষষ্ঠ শ্রেণিতে পড়াকালীন তিনি ছায়ানটে ভর্তি হন। পরবর্তীতে বুলবুল ললিতকলা একাডেমিতে গান শেখার যাত্রা শুরু করেন।

১৯৬৭ সাল থেকে বেতার ও টেলিভিশনে তালিকাভুক্ত শিল্পী হিসেবে গাইতে শুরু করেন পাপিয়া। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাণিবিজ্ঞান বিভাগে পড়াশোনা শেষে ১৯৭৩ সালে ভারত সরকারের বৃত্তি পেয়ে শান্তিনিকেতনের বিশ্বভারতী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে রবীন্দ্রসংগীতে স্নাতক ডিগ্রি লাভ করেন। বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার পর তিনিই প্রথম ব্যক্তি, যিনি এই বৃত্তি পেয়ে স্নাতক সম্পন্ন করেন।

পাপিয়া সারোয়ারের প্রথম অডিও অ্যালবাম ‘পাপিয়া সারোয়ার’ প্রকাশিত হয় ১৯৮২ সালে। তাঁর গানের ভুবন জুড়ে রবীন্দ্রসংগীতের পাশাপাশি আধুনিক গানেও তিনি ছিলেন সফল। জনপ্রিয় গান ‘নাই টেলিফোন নাই রে পিয়ন নাই রে টেলিগ্রাম’ তাঁকে শ্রোতাদের কাছে আলাদা জায়গা করে দেয়। তাঁর সর্বশেষ অ্যালবাম ‘আকাশপানে হাত বাড়ালাম’ প্রকাশিত হয় ২০১৩ সালে।
