সচেতনতা শব্দটির গুরুত্ব বাস্তব জীবনে যতোটা, ভার্চুয়াল জীবনে এটির গুরুত্ব ঠিক ততোটাই বরং ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে তার চেয়েও বেশি। ডিজিটাল যুগের সবথেকে দামী সম্পদ হলো তথ্য, আর আমাদের সামান্যতম অসচেতনতার জন্য অতি মুল্যবান তথ্যগুলোই অন্যের নিয়ন্ত্রণে চলে যেতে পারে।। বাঘা বাঘা সুরুক্ষিত প্রতিরক্ষা ব্যবস্থাও কখনো কখনো ভেঙ্গে পড়ে খুবই ছোট্ট এবং সুক্ষ্ম অসচেতনতা বা ভুলের কারনে।

ডিজিটালাইজেশনের দিকে আমরা যত এগিয়ে চলেছি, ততই বেড়ে চলেছে সাইবার সিকিউরিটির প্রয়োজনীয়তা। ফলে এর প্রতি মানুষের আগ্রহও দিন দিন বাড়ছে।। কিন্তু তবুও এ সম্পর্কে মানুষ এখনো যথেষ্ট সচেতন নয় যার কারনে অহরহই আমরা ডিজিটাল মাধ্যমে তথ্যচুরি সংক্রান্ত নানারকম ঘটনা দেখতে পাই।

তাই ভার্চুয়াল লাইফ সম্বন্ধে সবাইকে সচেতন করতে ও নিরাপদ রাখার লক্ষে নিয়ে জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে CAN-society (Cyber crime Awareness & Networking society )নামে এই সংগঠনটির যাত্রা শুরু হয়। এই ক্লাবটি এমন একটি বাংলাদেশ গড়ার স্বপ্ন দেখে যেখানে সাইবার ওয়াল্ডে সবাই নিরাপদ থাকবে।শুধু সাইবার নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে এই সংগঠন কাজ করে তা কিন্তু নয়, সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির পাশাপাশি দেশের তরুন সমাজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার্থীদের একবিংশ শতাব্দীর একজন দক্ষ মানবসম্পদ হিসেবে গড়ে তুলতেও কাজ করে যাচ্ছে এই সংগঠন টি। যার মধ্যে রয়েছে ইথিক্যাল হ্যাকিং, গ্রাফিক্স ডিজাইনিং, মাইক্রোসফট অফিস সহ আরো নানারকম কোর্স। পাশাপাশি উপযুক্ত পরিবেশ ও পরিস্থিতিতে নেতৃত্ব চর্চার মাধ্যমে এই সংগঠনটির প্রত্যেকটি সদস্য নিজের প্রতিষ্ঠান ও সমাজের জন্য একজন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সম্পদ হিসেবে গড়ে উঠছে।
একটি নিরাপদ সাইবার জগত আসলে আমাদের প্রত্যেকের ক্ষুদ্র ক্ষুদ্র কন্ট্রিবিউশান এর সমন্বিত রুপ। CAN-society (Cyber crime Awareness & Networking society ) বিশ্বাস করে, এই সংগঠনটির প্রত্যেকটি সদস্য জনসাধারণের মাঝে এই ক্ষুদ্র ক্ষুদ্র পরিবর্তন গুলি আনার ক্ষেত্রে ভুমিকা রাখবে। এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে আমাদের স্বপ্নের ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশকে।

Even the bravest cyber defense will face defeat when weaknesses are neglected. Information is the wheel that keeps everything going. Everybody has that wheel. Just sometimes our little neglection costs us losing its control. There comes in the word awareness. And the need for proper knowledge comes with it. Bangladesh is the new rising tiger of Asia in every sector. That means everything is in the process of digitalization rapidly. So, the term cyber-security awareness is more relevant now than ever. But despite having a huge need for cyber-security awareness resources and initiatives there are few. For that reason, most of us especially the students are becoming the victims of cyber-crime. For not having the needed knowledge we don’t even know what to do after being attacked! The scarcity of initiatives in this case and goodwill to make the virtual world safe for everyone inspired some bright minds of Jahangirnagar university to build this unique club and hub of creativity Cyber Crime Awareness and Networking Society - CAN Society on 15th February, 2020. With the motto ‘be aware, connect with care’ this society is moving fast. In a short time, CAN Society has accomplished a lot. CAN Society dreams of a Bangladesh where everyone will be safe in the cyber world. Not just focusing only on cyber-security this society is also working for the betterment of youth at full speed.
Some groundbreaking initiatives regarding skill improvement this society has offered an effective series of webinar named ‘Life Hacks with Experts’. Continuously posting videos and cyber awareness-related content on the page and website this society is not leaving any effort to aware the people. Not just making people aware CAN society believes in supporting the victims. The members of this society are getting an opportunity to improve their soft skills better than anywhere. A number of courses are already finished and others are ongoing. Research in any field is necessary to fully use the potential of the club towards that sector. This society has not forgot that. Field survey and core research has been a stronghold for this society to come this far in this very short time. This is just the starter; the main course is still to come! Be with us.
