Peter Shor wins Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics MIT Professor Peter Shor has won the 2023 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics with three others for “foundational work in the field of quantum information.” In addition, Daniel A. Spielman PhD ’95 has won the 2023 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Mathematics.

বিদেশে উচ্চ শিক্ষা গ্রহনের ক্ষেত্রে সবচেয়ে বড় অন্তরায় বিশ্বের নামকরা গবেষণাগার সম্পর্কে তথ্য না থাকা এবং পাশাপাশি বিশ্বের সব নামকরা স্কলারশিপ সম্পর্কে জ্ঞান না থাকা। Information Gap এর কারণে আমরা প্রতিনিয়ত আমাদের অনেক সুন্দর সম্ভাবনাকে নষ্ট করছি এবং গলা টিপে হত্যা করছি। দেশে বিষয়ভিত্তিক চাকুরীর সংখ্যা অনেক কম থাকায়, আমরা অনেকেই আমাদের ভালবাসার বা ভালোলাগার বিষয়ভিত্তিক পড়াশুনা বাদ দিয়ে শুধু চাকুরীর পরীক্ষার প্রস্তুতির জন্য নিজের বিজ্ঞানী বা গবেষক হওয়ার স্বপ্নকে বিসর্জন দেয়। আমরা যারা নিম্ন-মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবার থেকে এসেছি, তাদের সকলেরই এক ধরনের সমস্যা, আর সেটা হলো পড়াশুনা শেষ করার সাথে সাথে চাকুরী খুঁজতে হয় বা চাকুরীর পড়াশুনা করতে হয়। হয়তো তাদের মধ্যে অনেকেরই স্বপ্ন থাকে বিজ্ঞানী বা গবেষক হওয়ার। স্বপ্ন বিসর্জন না দিয়ে, আমরা যদি নিজেদেরকে বিশ্বের তাল মিলিয়ে যোগ্য করে গড়ে তুলি তাহলে বিশ্বের যেকোন দেশেই আমাদের কাজের বা চাকুরীর অভাব হবে না। এরজন্য দরকার বিশ্বের সব নামকরা ল্যাব সম্পর্কে জানা ও এর গবেষণা সম্পর্কে জ্ঞান রাখা এবং পাশাপাশি বিশ্বের নামকরা স্কলারশিপ সম্পর্কে সঠিক তথ্য রাখা।আমদের মধ্যে NASA, CERN, FERMILAB, INFN, LIGO -তে কাজ করার আগ্রহ থাকতে হবে এবং এগুলোতে কাজ করার যোগ্যতা ও আবেদনের পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে জানতে হবে। আপনারা যারা এই বিষয়ে জ্ঞান রাখেন তারা নিশ্চয় জানেন, বিদেশে উচ্চ শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার জন্য যে পরমাণ অর্থ দেয়া হয় তা দিয়ে নিজের ও নিজের পরিবারের খরচ ভালোভাবে চালানোর পরও অনেক টাকা সঞ্চিত থাকে। সবচেয়ে বড় কথা নিজের স্বপ্নটাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা যায়, পাশাপাশি বিশ্বের নামকরা বিজ্ঞানী ও গবেষকের অনেক কাছাকাছি যাওয়া যায় এবং অনেক কিছু শেখা যায়। উচ্চ শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার scholarship, অনুদান এবং Application পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে সঠিক তথ্য না থাকা বা ভুল তথ্য থাকা, এই সকল স্বপ্নের অপমৃত্যুর অন্যতম কারন। সুতরাং ছাত্রজীবনে আমাদেরকে সঠিক মেন্টর বা কোচ খুঁজে বের করতে হবে, যারা আমাদেরকে সঠিক তথ্য দিয়ে ঠিক পথে থাকতে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে বা সাহায্য করবে। আমরা যারা এখন অনার্স ও মাস্টার্সে অধ্যায়নরত আছি তাদের এই বিষয় গুলা নিয়ে ভাবা উচিৎ। পাশাপাশি আমাদেরকে বিভিন্ন দেশের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের summer school এবং internship সম্পর্কে খোঁজ রাখতে হবে। উচ্চ শিক্ষা ও গবেষণায় ভালো সুপারভাইজার ও ভালো ল্যাব পেতে এই summer school বা internship অনেক বড় ভূমিকা রাখতে পারে।

Japan (জাপান)
MEXT (মনবুকাগাকুশো) স্কলারশিপের জন্য সাধারণত দুইভাবে আবেদন করতে হয়। ১। প্রথম পদ্ধতি হলোঃ MEXT (মনবুকাগাকুশো)- University Recommendation এবং ২। দ্বিতীয় পদ্ধতি হলোঃ MEXT (মনবুকাগাকুশো) Embassy Recommendation

আবেদন পত্র গ্রহনের সময়-প্রতি বছর নভেম্বর থেকে জানুয়ারী। এই স্কলারশিপের জন্য জাপানের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর কে লিখতে হবে। Google -এ জাপানিজ ইউনিভার্সিটি (Japanese University) লিখে সার্চ দিলে অনেক ইউনিভার্সিটি এর লিস্ট চলে আসবে, সেখানে ওয়েব সাইটে প্রবেশ করে পছন্দের বিষয়ের প্রফেসরদেরকে খুঁজে বের করতে হবে এবং তারপর প্রফেসরদের নিজের CV এবং গবেষণা কর্মের লিস্ট বা Publications list সংযুক্ত করে ই-মেইল পাঠাতে হবে।
