PSTU Law Debating Society

Another engaging PSTU Law Debating Society Weekly Debate Session was successfully held with enthusiastic participation from our juniors of session 2025-26.

The session began with a Opening speech by Md Abdur Rahim Sir, Honorable Chairman of the Department of Law and Land Administration, PSTU.

The Motion was : This House believes that life-term prisoners should be allowed to serve in the armed forces.

Government Team: Tabassum Tamanna (Prime Minister), শ্রাবনী কনা (Minister), Jahid Hasan (Member of Parliament) and Mosaddek Hosain Jihad (Chief Whip).

Opposition Team: Rupok Das Koushik (Leader of the Opposition), Md Feroj (Deputy Leader), S M Sajim (Member of Parliament), and Nowshin Astha (Opposition Whip).

Ramim Ruhul Ullah served as the Speaker of the House and conducted the entire debate session.

The Opposition Team won the debate and Mosaddek Hosan Jihad was awarded Best Debater for his outstanding performance.

Today, PSTU Law Debating Society successfully conducted its weekly debate session. The session was facilitated by our Executive Member Salah Uddin Ahmed Firoz, whose guidance and insightful moderation made the discussion both engaging and productive.
The session concluded with a debate practice, where participants were divided into two teams and showcased remarkable arguments and critical thinking.

Today, PSTU Law Debating Society successfully conducted its Weekly Practice Debate on the motion:
"This House believes that socialism is more successful than capitalism in reducing inequality."

The motion was proposed by Hon'ble Prime Minister S. M. Sajim, while Muhammad Ansar served as the Leader of the Opposition. The roles of Minister, Deputy Minister, Government MP, and Opposition Whip were performed by Salahuddin Firoz, Atik Rahman, Rupok Das Kaushik, and Mosaddek Hossain Jihad respectively.
The debate featured rigorous arguments, critical analysis, and engaging parliamentary exchanges. Rebuttal speeches were delivered by Mosaddek Hossain Jihad and Salahuddin Firoz. Following deliberation and a vote of the House, the motion was unanimously accepted.
