A Gift from the Mankind to Aliens: Voyager Golden Record

Soaring through space, a gift from Earth for Aliens! And it was sent 46 years ago!! Let's see... what is that gift?

In 1977, two spacecraft named Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were launched. These are the farthest spacecraft sent by humans. The main mission of the two spacecraft was to explore the universe outside our solar system. However, each of the two spacecraft carried a gift for aliens. And that is -

'Voyager Golden Record - The Golden Record of Voyagers'

It is basically a 12-inch diameter copper phonograph record covered in gold.
The record contains:
* Human identity: Greetings in 55 languages, including Bengali, saying "Hello, may there be peace in the world"
* Human life and culture: Sounds of nature, such as children's laughter, birds chirping, etc.
* Description of the Earth: 115 images encoded in analog format
The funny thing is: these 115 images were not sent in digital format or printed. Because at that time - 1977 - there were neither pen drives nor hard drives. And the memory of the spacecraft's computer was only 69.63 kilobytes!
In fact: the images were sent in audio format, ie converted to sound! Because only sound can be stored on a phonograph record. And the instructions on how to decode the sound to get the information are given on the cover of the record.
Voyager 1 is currently 24,408,267,148 kilometers away from Earth!!
The main purpose of sending the Voyager Golden Record was: if there are any other intelligent beings in this universe, they may know that there is another intelligent species called humans. If the aliens can find the record and decode it, the purpose will be successful.
And the biggest thing is: this small message is mixed with - human ability, human identity, our dreams and aspirations. With this hope, it is running on the path of the unknown.
If, someday, aliens find the record and can decode it properly, then the greeting in Bengali will also be played among the greetings in 55 languages:
"Hello, may there be peace in the world"...

Additional Information:
* The record was selected by a committee chaired by Carl Sagan of Cornell University.
* The record is designed to last for a billion years.
* The record includes music from different cultures around the world, including Bach, Beethoven, Chuck Berry, and Louis Armstrong.
* The record also includes images of the human body, the solar system, and the Milky Way galaxy.
The Voyager Golden Record is a testament to human ingenuity and our desire to connect with other intelligent life in the universe. It is a reminder that we are all part of something larger than ourselves, and that we should strive to explore and understand the universe around us.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

The Earth's Population: A Headache or a Mismanagement?

The world's growing population has become a cause for concern, with the number of people on Earth already exceeding 8 billion. But is 8 billion really too many? Or is it simply the result of human mismanagement?

Surprisingly, it is possible to accommodate all 8 billion people in the US state of Texas alone. This information comes from a report by the Population Research Institute, a US-based research organization. Let's see how...

Texas: Land of Plenty:

Texas, the second-largest state in the US, has a land area of 748,603,500,000 square feet (7.48 trillion).

Dividing this area by 8 billion people gives us a per capita land area of 935 square feet (approximately).

And, considering four people as a family, each family would get about 3700 square feet. This is significantly larger than the average size of a house (2200 square feet).

(Assuming Texas is flat, excluding deserts, rivers, and mountains)

Interesting Facts:

Texas accounts for 7% of the total land area of the US.
Texas is 4.5 times larger than Bangladesh in terms of land area.
Texas's land area is only 1/200th of the Earth's total land area (just!!)

And the rest of the Earth would be left for:

Schools and hospitals
Roads and highways
Offices and courts
Agricultural land
Markets and shopping malls
Forests and jungles
Animals and birds
Mountains and rivers
And more!

Conclusion:

The Earth has more than enough space to accommodate its current population. The problem lies in how we manage our resources and distribute them equitably. With sustainable practices and mindful consumption, we can ensure a better future for all.
