ʙɪᴍᴇᴀᴄ ᴀᴄᴄʀᴇᴅɪᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀᴘᴘʀᴏᴠᴇᴅ 🤝

After 16 years of carrying the name, I was shocked to hear about the recent proposal to reverse the name of my beloved alma mater, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, to Begum Khaleda Zia Medical College (which was the founding name). As an institution that has already completed 19 years since its foundation, this proposed change feels like a destructive step backward, especially considering its established ties with numerous national and international academic and professional bodies in the last 2 decades.

Let me be clear: this is not about questioning the respect and legacy of our former Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia. But altering the name now could create serious consequences for current students—particularly those aspiring for higher studies, international jobs, or immigration. A sudden 'identity shift' risks disrupting the academic and professional continuity they rely on, and we’ve already experienced such confusion once in the past imposed to us by a fascist regime.

Today, 'Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College' stands as a respected brand in the medical field. Changing its name (again) would not only be a blow to that brand but also risk plunging our students into another wave of identity crisis. Their dignity, dreams, and aspirations for global recognition must be safeguarded.

In the spirit of a new Bangladesh, I hope no political regime falls into the trap of “name change politics.” Our focus should be on improving infrastructure, hostel facilities, academic quality, research output, and creating a respectful, student-centered learning environment. Such an unnecessary and poltically motivated move could also harm students' mental well-being and trigger widespread frustration, which ultimately reflects poorly on those in leadership.

Alternatively, we could name a newly constructed building, auditorium, or another significant structure after Begum Zia to honor this great leader.

Let’s invest in progress, not polarization.🙏

Hepatobillary Surgery এবং Colorectal Surgery বিভাগ।। আশা করা যায়, সামনের সেশন থেকেই ট্রেনিং শুরুহবে।

"আমাদের কোভিড সমাচার"

ইনশা আল্লাহ আগামীকাল থেকে কোভিড ইউনিট এ রোগী ভর্তি শুরু হবে।

এক নজরে যদি আমরা একটু দেখে নেইঃ

১.কোভিড রোগীদের জন্যে বরাদ্দ বিছানার সংখ্যা প্রায় ১৫০।যেহেতু বিশ্বব্যাপী পুরুষ দের আক্রান্তের হার বেশি,পুরুষ দের জন্যে বরাদ্দ বিছানার সংখ্যাও বেশি।

২.সন্দেহ যুক্ত কোভিড রোগী দের জন্যে বরাদ্দ বিছানার সংখ্যা প্রায় - ৫০।

৩.প্রতি টি বিছানায় ই সেন্ট্রাল অক্সিজেনের সংযোগ আছে।এমন কি অন্য হাসপাতালের অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে দেখা গিয়েছে,রোগী রা যখন ওয়াশ রুম এ যায় তখন অনেকের ই রক্তে অক্সিজেনের মাত্রা কমে যায়।আমাদের কোভিড ইউনিট এর ওয়াশ রুমেও সেন্ট্রাল অক্সিজেনের সংযোগ আছে।

৪.প্রতিটি ওয়ার্ড এ রোগী দের মানসিক ক্লান্তি দূর করার জন্যে ২ টি টেলিভিশন এবং ফ্রী ওয়াই ফাই এর ব্যবস্থা করা আছে।

৫.সম্পুর্ন ওয়াড টি সি সি ক্যামেরার আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে।

৬.ইতিমধ্যে ডাক্তার,সেবক-সেবিকা সহ সকল স্বাস্থ্য কর্মী দের ট্রেনিং সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।

৭.একটি কন্ট্রোল রুম স্থাপন করা হয়েছে।যার দায়িত্তে সম্মানিত পরিচালক, অধ্যক্ষ,উপ পরিচালক,উপাধ্যক্ষ, বিভাগীয় প্রধান স্যার রা ছাড়াও ডা.গোবিন্দ চন্দ্র রায় স্যার এবং ডা.রতন দাশ গুপ্ত স্যার আছেন।

৮.স্বাস্থ্য কর্মী দের থাকার জন্যে হোটেল আর যাতায়াতের জন্যে গাড়ি ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।প্রতিটি গ্রুপ ৭ দিন করে ডিউটি করবে।

আজ(১৬-৬-২০) ভোর ৫-২৫ মি.শ্রদ্ধেয় অধ্যাপক ডাঃমুজিবুর রহমান স্যার,দীর্ঘ কালিন ভূতপূর্ব পরিচালক,শহীদ সোহরাওয়ার্দী মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল ইহকাল ত্যাগ করেছেন,তিনি করোনাক্রান্ত হয়ে সিএমএইস আইসিউ তে ছিলেন -বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা, মহান স্রষ্টা উনার বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি বিধান করুন।😪

শহীদ সোরাওয়ার্দী মেডিকেল কলেজ এর মাইক্রোবায়োলজি বিভাগে করোনা রোগী র পরীক্ষা করার জন্য rt pcr মেশিন বসানো হয়েছে।। আশা করা যাচ্ছে, ঈদের পর থেকে পুরোদমে করোনা রোগী র পরীক্ষা করা সম্ভব হবে।।।

এইজন্যেই কিনা আমরা মাস্ক পড়তে চাই না!!
