He ignores me. ✅ (সে আমাকে উপেক্ষা করে)

He doesn't care about me. ✅ (সে আমার ব্যাপারে গুরুত্ব দেয় না)

He doesn't give me any importance. ✅ (সে আমাকে কোনো গুরুত্ব দেয় না)

He doesn't bother about me. ✅ (সে আমাকে নিয়ে মাথা ঘামায় না)

Confusing Quantifiers :
A lot of / Lots of / Some of / Most of / Plenty of / Half of + Noun → Verb agrees with the Noun.

➡️ Noun singular হলে singular verb
➡️ Noun plural হলে plural verb

Examples :
1. A lot of
A lot of money is needed.
A lot of students are absent today.

2. Lots of
Lots of water is wasted every day.
Lots of people are waiting outside.

3. Some of
Some of the milk is spoiled.
Some of the books are missing.

4. Most of
Most of the work is finished.
Most of the employees are present.

5. Plenty of
Plenty of food is available.
Plenty of opportunities are available.

6. Half of
Half of the cake is gone.
Half of the students are absent.

বিশেষভাবে মনে রাখুন :
Most of / Some of / Half of + Pronoun হলে pronoun-এর number অনুযায়ী verb হবে।
Examples :
Most of it is true.
Most of them are my friends.
Half of it is enough.
Half of them are ready.

Noun + al → Adjective
কিছু Noun-এর সাথে -al যোগ করে Adjective গঠন করা হয়।

This is a natural process.
→ এটি একটি প্রাকৃতিক প্রক্রিয়া।
We attended a cultural programme.
→ আমরা একটি সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নিয়েছিলাম।
The national flag is flying.
→ জাতীয় পতাকা উড়ছে।
It was an accidental mistake.
→ এটি একটি অনিচ্ছাকৃত ভুল ছিল।
Seasonal fruits are healthy.
→ মৌসুমি ফল স্বাস্থ্যকর।

Verb + al → Noun
কিছু Verb-এর সাথে -al যোগ করে Noun গঠন করা হয়।

The proposal was accepted.
→ প্রস্তাবটি গৃহীত হয়েছিল।
His arrival surprised everyone.
→ তার আগমন সবাইকে অবাক করেছিল।
The removal of waste is necessary.
→ বর্জ্য অপসারণ প্রয়োজনীয়।
We are waiting for your approval.
→ আমরা আপনার অনুমোদনের অপেক্ষায় আছি।
His refusal disappointed us.
→ তার প্রত্যাখ্যান আমাদের হতাশ করেছে।

By hook or by crook - যে কোন মূল্যে
★তোমাকে অবশ্যই যে কোনো মূল্যে এই কাজটি করতে হবে।
You must do this work by hook or by crook.

Breathe one’s last -মারা যাওয়া
★বৃদ্ধ লোকটি রবিবারে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করে।
The old man breathes his last on Sunday.

Build castle in the air - আকাশ কুসুম রচনা করা
★আকাশ কুসুম কল্পনা করে সময় নষ্ট করো না।
Don't waste your time in building castle in the air.

Call to mind - স্মরণ করা
★আমি তোমার ফোন নাম্বারটি স্মরণ করতে পারছি না।
I cannot call to mind your phone number.

Call in question - সন্দেহ করা
★কেউ তার সততাকে নিয়ে সন্দেহ করতে পারে না।
No one can call his honesty in question.

Carry the day - জয়লাভ করা
★ছেলেরা বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতায় জয়লাভ করেছিল।
The boys carried the day in the debate competition.

Chip of the old block - বাপকা বেটা
★রনি বাপকা বেটা।
Rony is the chip of the old block.

Crying need - জরুরী
★বাংলাদেশের জন্য গণশিক্ষা জরুরি হয়ে পড়েছে।
Mass education has become essential for Bangladesh.
Mass education is a crying need for Bangladesh.

Cut a sorry figure - খারাপ ফল করা
★সে পরীক্ষায় খারাপ ফলাফল করেছে।
He cuts a sorry figure in the exam.

For good - চিরদিনের জন্য
★সে চিরদিনের জন্য বাসা ছাড়লো।
He left the house for good.

From hand to mouth - দিন আনে দিন খায়
★গরিব মানুষরা দিন আনে দিন খায়।
The poor man live from hand to mouth.

Gala day - বিশেষ দিন
★ঈদুল ফিতর মুসলমানদের জন্য বিশেষ একটি দিন।
The Eid –Ul-Fitr is a gala day for Muslims.

Get rid of - মুক্তি পাওয়া
★লোকটির অসুস্থতা থেকে মুক্তি পাওয়া উচিত।
The person should get rid of the illness.

Hush money - ঘুষ
★ফাইলটি খোলার জন্য তিনি ঘুষ দিয়েছিলেন।
He offered a hush money to disclose the file.

In lieu of - পরিবর্তে
★ওটার পরিবর্তে আমাকে এই কলমটা দাও।
Give me this pen in lieu of that.

In cold blood - ঠান্ডা মাথায়
★তারা ঠান্ডা মাথায় এ হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটিয়েছে।
They committed this murder in cold blood.

Ins and out - খুঁটিনাটি
★আমি এই ফাইলের খুঁটিনাটি জানি।
I know ins and outs of this file.

In a nutshell - সংক্ষেপে
★সম্পূর্ণ গল্পটি সংক্ষেপে বল।
Tell the whole story in a nutshell.

In the long run - পরিণামে
★পরিণামে আপনাকে ভুগতে হবে।
You will have to suffer in the long run.

Irony of fate - ভাগ্যের পরিহাস
★ভাগ্যের পরিহাসে তিনি সফল হতে পারেননি।
He could not succeed by irony of fate.
