Yesterday’s “𝑶𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒔” workshop at BAU was alive with practical insights and real-world research—here’s a more conversational recap:

𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇. 𝑱𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑳𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒈-𝑫𝒆𝑩𝒐𝒆𝒓’s research brought the ideas to life: his Hands-Free Hectare linear-programming model slashed wheat production costs by €15–29/ton on simple fields and €24–46/ton on irregular plots—proof that smarter scheduling pays off.
We learned how spatial regression of yield-monitor data tightens zone-by-zone estimates, so fertilizer and water go exactly where they earn the most return.
His multi-objective models showed us how to balance profit with environmental goals—vital as we face climate risks and resource limits.
