Dear Dairy Stakeholders,

I am pleased to share the first hand results on our new regional profile analysis on dairy herd structure, milk production and milk price from Sylhet Region, whose infrastructure and socio-economic condition is much different than other regions. This is the first regional profiling analysis, where we will be pleased to receive your feedback. We will publish series of results in coming days.

এই গবেষণায় দেখা যায় যে, ফেব্রুয়ারির তুলনায় মার্চ মাসে বাংলাদেশে খামারি পর্যায়ে দুধের দাম ও খাদ্যের দাম উভয়ই বেড়েছে পক্ষান্তরে বিশ্ববাজারে দুধের দাম ও খাদ্যের দাম উভয়ই কমেছে।

ঢাকা থেকে যশোর বিমানবন্দর হয়ে খুলনায় এল ডিডিপি প্রজেক্টে আইডিআরএন (IDRN) ডাটাবেজ এবং ডেইরি সেক্টর এনালাইসিস এর জন্য খুলনায় ভ্রমণ।

Dear Dairy Stakeholders of Bangladesh,

It is my pleasure to share that I have given my perceptions regarding the self sufficiency of Bangladesh. Here is the outcome of the Emerging Dairy Region Forum (EDRF):

1) Self sufficiency for Bangladesh is highly driven from the methodological differences (as attached details)
2) Dairy in Bangladesh is now momentum and key hotspot
3) Increasing production costs, higher feed price and low productivity are hindering the self sufficiency
4) Government has been emphasizing the self sufficiency by changing the farm management strategy, increasing efficiency in management, productivity changes and improving the genetic merit.

The overall message: for sustainable solution for the self sufficiency, as mentioned by Torsten Hemme (CEO and Founder of IFCN, Germany), are:

i) get the right data
ii) get the right stakeholders (farmers, academicians, researchers, input suppliers, policy makers)
iii) get the right farming system

For Bangladesh dairy sector development, lets come all together and make a viable and reliable database for dairy.
