WH Question কী?
যেসব প্রশ্ন Who, What, When, Where, Why, Which, Whose, Whom এবং How দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তাদের WH Question বলে।
প্রধান WH Words এবং তাদের ব্যবহার:
1. Who (কে/কারা): কোনো ব্যক্তি সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে ‘Who’ ব্যবহার করা হয়।
Example: Raju is a firefighter. → Who is a firefighter?
2. What (কি/পেশা): কোনো বস্তু, কাজ বা পেশা সম্পর্কে জানতে ‘What’ বসে।
Example: He is reading. → What is he doing?
Example: His father is a doctor. → What is his father?
3. When (কখন): সময় (সময়, দিন, মাস, বছর) জানতে ‘When’ বসে।
Example: I get up at 6 a.m. → When do you get up?
4. Where (কোথায়): কোনো জায়গার নাম বা অবস্থান জানতে ‘Where’ বসে।
Example: They live in Dhaka. → Where do they live?

৫. Why (কেন): কোনো কাজের কারণ জানতে ‘Why’ ব্যবহার করা হয়।
(বাক্যে because, to, for থাকলে সাধারণত Why হয়।)
Example: She goes to school to learn. → Why does she go to school?
৬. How (কিভাবে/কেমন): কোনো কাজ করার ধরন, শরীরের অবস্থা, বয়স বা সংখ্যা/পরিমাণ জানতে
Example: I am fine. → How are you?
Example: He is ten years old. → How old is he?
Example: He goes to school by bus. → How does he go to school?
WH Question তৈরির সাধারণ গঠন (Structure):
WH Word + Auxiliary Verb (সহায়ক ক্রিয়া) + Subject + Main Verb + বাকি অংশ + ?
১. বাক্যে am, is, are, was, were, can, will থাকলে:
সেগুলো সরাসরি WH Word এর পরে বসে যায়।
Example: Siam is playing. → Who is playing?
Example: They are in the park. → Where are they?
২. বাক্যে সহায়ক ক্রিয়া না থাকলে (do/does/did এর ব্যবহার):
মূল Verb-এর সাথে s/es থাকলে does বসে (তখন মূল verb থেকে s/es উঠে যায়)।
মূল Verb-টি Past form-এ থাকলে did বসে (তখন মূল verb-টি present form হয়ে যায়)।
অন্য সব ক্ষেত্রে (Present plural/I/You) do বসে।
উদাহরণ:
He lives in Tangail. → Where does he live? (lives আছে তাই does)
They played football. → What did they play? (played আছে তাই did)
I eat rice. → What do you eat? (eat আছে তাই do)
কিছু বিশেষ নিয়ম:
বাক্যে ‘I’ বা ‘We’ থাকলে প্রশ্নে তা ‘You’ হয়ে যায়।
বাক্যে ‘My’ বা ‘Our’ থাকলে প্রশ্নে তা ‘Your’ হয়ে যায়।
প্রশ্নের শেষে অবশ্যই প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন (?) দিতে হবে।
