Dhaka, October 17 — Muslims around the world are gathering today to observe Jumu’ah (Friday), the most blessed day of the week in Islam. Known as the Eid of the week, Friday holds a special place in the hearts of believers.

According to a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

> “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was admitted to Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it.”
(Sahih Muslim)

On this day, Muslims attend the Jumu’ah prayer at the mosque, listen to the Khutbah (sermon), and make abundant du’a and dhikr. It is also a time for reflection, unity, and seeking forgiveness from Allah.

Scholars encourage reciting Surah Al-Kahf, sending salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, and making special supplications during the last hour of Friday, as it is believed to be a time when prayers are answered.

রাসুলুল্লাহ ﷺ বলেছেন:

> “সূর্য যেদিন উদিত হয়েছে তার মধ্যে সর্বোত্তম দিন হলো শুক্রবার। এই দিনে আদম (আঃ) সৃষ্টি হয়েছেন, এই দিনে তাঁকে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করানো হয়েছে এবং এই দিনেই তাঁকে পৃথিবীতে নামানো হয়েছে।”

এই দিনে মুসলমানরা মসজিদে একত্রিত হয়ে জুমার নামাজ, খুতবা শোনেন এবং দোয়া ও জিকিরে মগ্ন থাকেন। এটি আত্মসমালোচনা, ঐক্য ও আল্লাহর ক্ষমা প্রার্থনার একটি বিশেষ সময়।
