Principles of Assessment
Validity: The assessment measures what it claims to measure. It accurately evaluates the specific skills, knowledge, or competencies required without testing unrelated factors
Reliability: The assessment produces consistent and stable results. Different markers using the same criteria, or the same student taking the test at different times, would reach the same conclusion
Fairness: The assessment does not disadvantage any learner. It provides clear instructions, avoids bias, and allows for reasonable adjustments (like extra time or modified formats) for individuals with specific needs while keeping standards equal
Flexibility: The assessment adapts to the context of the learner. It allows for different paths or methods to demonstrate competence as long as the core standard of the required outcome remains unchanged
