Their sudden and tragic departure is an immense loss to their families, friends, and the entire community. On behalf of USAM, we extend our deepest condolences to their bereaved families and loved ones during this profoundly difficult time.

বর্ষাকাল, বাংলাদেশ এবং পাবলিক পরীক্ষা ( এইচ এস সি ২০২৬): সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার আগে বাস্তবতা ভাবা জরুরি ছিল।

বাংলাদেশ একটি নদীমাতৃক দেশ। বর্ষাকাল এ দেশের স্বাভাবিক ঋতু হলেও এই সময় অতিবৃষ্টি, জলাবদ্ধতা, নদীভাঙন ও বন্যা মানুষের স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাত্রাকে ব্যাহত করে। বিশেষ করে গ্রামাঞ্চল ও নিম্নাঞ্চলের মানুষের জন্য বর্ষাকাল অনেক সময় শুধু বৃষ্টির সৌন্দর্য নয়, বরং প্রতিদিনের সংগ্রামের নাম।
এমন একটি সময়ে দেশের সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পাবলিক পরীক্ষা গুলোর একটি ( এইচএসসি ) আয়োজন করা কতটা বাস্তবসম্মত, এই প্রশ্নটি এখন নতুন করে ভাবার সময় এসেছে।
আজকের ( এইচএসসি) পরীক্ষায় অনেক শিক্ষার্থী কোমর সমান পানি পার হয়ে কেন্দ্রে পৌঁছেছে। কারও অ্যাডমিট কার্ড ভিজেছে, কারও বই-খাতা ও পোশাক ভিজেছে, আবার কেউ ভেজা কাপড়েই ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা পরীক্ষা দিয়েছে। একজন শিক্ষার্থী যখন পরীক্ষার হলে বসে থাকার কথা শুধুমাত্র নিজের প্রস্তুতি ও জ্ঞানের ওপর মনোযোগ দিয়ে, তখন তাকে যদি একই সঙ্গে প্রতিকূল আবহাওয়া, যাতায়াতের ঝুঁকি ও শারীরিক অস্বস্তির সঙ্গে লড়াই করতে হয়, তাহলে সেটি আর একটি স্বাভাবিক পরীক্ষা থাকে না।
প্রশ্ন হলো পাবলিক পরীক্ষা কি শুধু একটি নির্দিষ্ট তারিখে সম্পন্ন করার বিষয়, নাকি শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য একটি ন্যায্য ও নিরাপদ পরিবেশ নিশ্চিত করার বিষয়?
দুঃখজনক হলেও সত্য, আমাদের দেশে অনেক সময় পাবলিক পরীক্ষা পরিচালনার ক্ষেত্রে এমন একটি মানসিকতা দেখা যায় যে, "যেভাবেই হোক পরীক্ষা শেষ করতে হবে"। কিন্তু একটি পরীক্ষার সফলতা শুধু সময়মতো প্রশ্নপত্র বিতরণ এবং খাতা সংগ্রহের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়। সফলতা তখনই, যখন প্রতিটি শিক্ষার্থী সমান সুযোগ, নিরাপত্তা এবং মানসিক স্থিরতা নিয়ে পরীক্ষায় অংশ নিতে পারে।
দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত মন্ত্রণালয় ও প্রশাসনিক ব্যক্তিবর্গের প্রতি অনুরোধ, বাংলাদেশের জলবায়ু ও ভৌগোলিক বাস্তবতা বিবেচনায় নিয়ে পাবলিক পরীক্ষার সময়সূচি নির্ধারণ করা উচিত। বর্ষাকাল আমাদের জন্য নতুন কোনো বিষয় নয়। প্রতিবছর এই সময়ে দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে বৃষ্টি ও জলাবদ্ধতা সৃষ্টি হয়। তাই ভবিষ্যতে পরীক্ষার সময় নির্ধারণে আবহাওয়া, যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের বাস্তব পরিস্থিতিকে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া প্রয়োজন।
বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ তাদের পাবলিক পরীক্ষা ব্যবস্থাপনায় শিক্ষার্থীদের সুবিধা ও নিরাপত্তাকে সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দেয়। বিশেষ করে চীন ও জাপানের মতো দেশে পরীক্ষার পরিবেশ, নিরাপত্তা, সময় ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং জরুরি পরিস্থিতির জন্য আগাম পরিকল্পনা করা হয়। তাদের কাছ থেকে আমাদেরও শেখার আছে, একটি পরীক্ষা শুধু একটি প্রশাসনিক কার্যক্রম নয়, এটি একটি প্রজন্মের ভবিষ্যতের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কিত।
শিক্ষার্থীদের কাছ থেকে আমরা শুধু ভালো ফলাফল আশা করি, কিন্তু তাদের জন্য একটি নিরাপদ ও মানবিক পরীক্ষার পরিবেশ নিশ্চিত করার দায়িত্বও আমাদের নিতে হবে।
বর্ষার দুর্ভোগকে উপেক্ষা করে নয়, বরং বাংলাদেশের বাস্তবতাকে মাথায় রেখে ভবিষ্যতের পাবলিক পরীক্ষার পরিকল্পনা করা হোক। কারণ একটি জাতির ভবিষ্যৎ যাদের হাতে, তাদের প্রতি আমাদের সিদ্ধান্তগুলোও হওয়া উচিত ততটাই মানবিক ও দায়িত্বশীল।

Think public university is out of reach? Think again. 👀

Yesterday, through Next Destination: Public University, students had the opportunity to hear directly from those who once stood where they are today and successfully made their way to Bangladesh’s public universities.

Our seminar featured inspiring speakers who shared their personal journeys, struggles, and successes from preparing for admission tests to navigating university life. The discussion covered academics, career development, extracurricular activities, networking, entertainment, and personal growth, giving participants a realistic picture of life beyond college.

Through their stories and practical advice, students gained valuable insights into how they can make the most of their university years and prepare themselves for future opportunities.

কমলগঞ্জের প্রকৃতি, স্মৃতি, মানুষ, চায়ের সুবাস আর আমাদের তরুণদের অনুভূতি নিয়ে পুসাক প্রকাশ করতে যাচ্ছে একটি সৃজনশীল ম্যাগাজিন - “চা পাতাৱ চিঠি”।
