In Toraja, Indonesia, families keep the dead bodies of their loved ones at home for months or even years.
They treat them as “sick” and continue daily life.
Later, they perform the Ma’nene ritual, where the bodies are cleaned and given new clothes.
A unique tradition that still exists today.
