We are happy to have hosted two reputed academicians, Prof. Maswood Akhter (Department of English, Rajshashi University) and Mr. Md Harun (Associate Professor, Department of English, Comilla University) at our department today. They came to join us as external expert members on two different semester-end viva boards. We're also lucky to have amidst us, Mr. Habibur Rahaman, Associate Professor, who has recently returned for a short break from studying abroad. Faculty members are happy to interact with the distinguished scholars. Department Chair, Mr. Md Zubair Al Mahmud (Associate Professor) thanks them for their valuable time and contribution.

Massive congratulations to our undergrad student, Ratan Dev Baroi, on standing first in the English Speaking contest in the Regional Youth Forum-2026 organized by Bangladesh Scouts Rover Region in Gazipur on 15-16th May. Our department chair, Mr. Md Zubair Al Mahmud, attended the event as a Gopalganj District representative.

A heartfelt felicitation program was held this evening to celebrate a significant transition in leadership within the Faculty of Humanities. Organized by the newly appointed Dean, Sukanta Biswas (Associate Professor, Department of English), the event honored the successful tenure and dedicated service of the outgoing Dean, Dr. Abdur Rahman Sagor (Associate Professor, Department of Bangla).
The occasion brought together faculty members and staff from the Departments of Bangla, English, and History in a spirit of warmth and professional camaraderie. Colleagues expressed their sincere gratitude to Dr. Abdur Rahman for his contributions, presenting him with a memento and a flower bouquet as tokens of appreciation. Simultaneously, faculty members heartily congratulated the new Dean, sharing their visions and ideas for the future growth of the faculty. It was an evening of reflection and shared commitment to academic excellence.

Colleagues from the Department of English have congratulated Mr. Sukanta Biswas, Associate Professor, today on his assumption of deanship of the Faculty of Humanities effective from 25th April for 2 years.
