✅ Past Continuous Tense — Definition

🚖The Past Continuous Tense (also called Past Progressive Tense) is used to describe an action that was happening at a specific time in the past. It shows that the action was ongoing (not finished) at that past moment.

📘 Structure:
Subject + was/were + verb + ing

🧩 Examples:
1ī¸âƒŖ I was reading a book at 8 p.m. yesterday.
👉 (At 8 p.m., the action was in progress — not finished.)

2ī¸âƒŖ They were playing football when it started to rain.
👉 (The playing was happening when the rain interrupted.)

3ī¸âƒŖ She was cooking while he was watching TV.
👉 (Two actions were happening at the same time in the past.)
