* There will be a short coffee and snacks break in the middle of the morning session. The food and drink will be served inside the auditorium.
* No water will be provided. Please bring yourself a bottle of water.

Guest Speaker: Mohammad Mizanur Rahman

We would like to introduce Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, a Partner of Brain Station 23 Limited, our guest speaker in Industry-Academia Collaboration Program 20.1.

Mr Mizanur Rahman has an experience of more than 15 years in the software industry. He has played versatile roles throughout his career. He worked as Program Manager and Technical Project Manager in Brain Station 23 Limited. Before that, he is also experienced being Team Lead in SphuronLabs.

Besides his rich professional life, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman is also certified by renowned organizations for Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions, Ethical Computer Hacking & Forensic Investigation, SysOps Administrator. He has also accomplished the certification of Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Undoubtedly, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman is a man full of energy, good team spirit and a positive attitude. IUT Computer Science and Engineering Department believe that the presence of Mr Mizanur Rahman will be highly beneficial to all the young juvenile future software engineers.

Guest Speaker: Risat Rajin

Risat Rajin is an expert design professional, specializing in the field of UI and UX, currently working as a Chief Design Officer (CDO) at JoomShaper, Bangladesh. The company is known
as one of the leading Premium Joomla and WordPress template provider serving more than 80 thousand clients worldwide.
Risat completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) on Human Resources Management from Bangladesh University of Business & Technology in 2013. He started his early career way before that in 2008 as a Junior Graphic Designer at Oonkon Ad Agency. 11 months later he joined Codef Technologies as a Creative Designer. In 2014 he joined JoomShaper as Head of Design, became Vice President of Design three years later, and to his current position as CDO a year later.

He has worked intensively on a handful of projects up until this point. To mention a few, Tutor Learning Management System, Notekhata.com, ICofont, shapebootstrap and many more.

Risat is a highly motivated design geek with keen attention to detail. In his own words: "What motivates me and gets me passionate is the opportunity to design user interface and make them beautiful and easy to use."

We’re glad to have such a talented and dedicated individual such as him to join us on the Industry-Academia Collaboration Event.

Here is the detail of the Industry-Academia Collaboration Programme 20.1 to be held on 8 February 2020, Saturday.

The morning session will start at 9:30 AM in IUT Auditorium. Representatives of the four invited companies will talk about their expectations towards fresh graduates as well as provide guidelines about how to achieve that.

The parallel technical sessions will start at 2:30 in the second academic building.

We are hopeful that some more experts from JoomShaper will join us, but it is not confirmed yet.

Other than this, Syedur Rahman, Software Architect & Lead DevOps Engineer of Jaxara IT Limited and Abdullah Farhan, Senior Quality Assurance Engineer of Streams Tech Limited will also be present in the event.

We will have the following technical sessions in the afternoon:

Tahmina Khatoon from Brain Station 23 will conduct a practical session titled “Deep drive into AWS Lex” in association with Anowar Hossain and Syeda Tasnim Fabiha. They will discuss:
- Importance of using a bot
- Details about AWS Lex
- Practical session on how to implement a chatbot with lex and integrate it with other AWS services and Facebook

Cefalo’s afternoon session will be split into two parts:
- Ferdous Mahmud Shaon will talk about “Tips to Kick-start your Software Engineering Career”
- Satyajit Dey will talk about “Software Design Principles and Best Practices”

Datasoft will talk about discuss “Disruptive technologies”, specifically
- Disruptive technologies, such as Computer Vision, Data Science and ML, IoT Hardware and Software, Industrial Design etc
- The need to include these courses in regular syllabus
- RnD Collaboration and Lab usage

JoomShaper’s specialty is in UI/UX, Risat Rajin will talk on this topic.

Additionally, Sayedur Rahman will be available for the students to answer any questions regarding DevOps and related topics. As a reminder - he visited IUT on the first collaboration program and had a talk about DevOps.

Guest Speaker: Sami Islam

In this world of rapidly changing technological landscape and thriving entrepreneurship community, for truly standing out in the crowd, one has to couple the right combination of technical skills with core business skills. Long gone are the days of zoning out the rest of the world as you perfect your code. And to show the blazing example of this right combination, IUT Industry-Academia Collaboration Program 20.1 presents Sami Islam.

Sami Islam is an experienced Individual with a successful track record of company formation from the start-up stage, policy, mission and goal strategize, operation processes formulation and implementation, corporate communication and client base development. He did his B.Sc in Computer Science from Bangalore University. From the very beginning, he was skilled in technical management, strategy planning and company formation. That’s why he joined bGlobal LLC as a Senior Manager in Accounts Management. After that, he was promoted as the Director of Operations of BG Interactive Ltd. There, he was overseeing company operations and the overall productivity of the company. With his ingenious skills, Sami Islam coordinated a new venture in Japan as the Program Coordinator of SME Informatics, an ICT Ministry supported IT venture setup. Currently, he is working as the Senior Program Manager of DataSoft Systems Bangladesh Ltd where he oversees IoT initiatives, coordinates IoT projects and European market projects.

Other than establishing his inspiring career with multifarious skills, Sami Islam was also the Co-founder and Chairman of Shongkolon Bangladesh Trust, a social entrepreneurship venture for the Rana Plaza victims. This is an inevitable proof of his ingenuity.

Sami Islam is an individual with local and overseas work exposure, national and international NGO work experience, results-driven approach and relentless in pursuit of excellence from a business and organizational standpoint. He sincerely believes in transparency, commitment and teamwork. We believe the Industry-Academia Collaboration Programme will be immensely benefited by his presence.

Guest Speaker: Tahmina Khatoon

Tahmina Khatoon is a full-stack software developer and trainer and AWS certified solution architect, currently working as a Technical Project Manager at Brain Station 23 Limited, a leading software development company in Bangladesh.

Tahmina started as a web developer at WEBTECHNOBD in 2008. Afterward, she joined Prothom Alo Jobs, and then later to Genesis Systems BD with the same designation. She then joined Genweb2 as a Software Engineer in 2012. 3 Years later, She started working as a Senior Software Engineer in Brain Station 23 and worked her way up towards being a Senior Project manager in her current state. She has quite a substantial number of certifications and licenses in her name, including her former educational ones being a gold medalist at International Business Administration and Information System University, an Advanced Certificate for Management Professionals from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. For the professional milestones, she’s a Certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solution Architect and Cloud Practitioner, Certified Scrum Developer, Scrum Master, and Scrum Product Owner.

Tahmina has worked on a gigantic amount of mostly web-based projects since the beginning of her career. To name a few, Automation of POL, Ration & Fodder Supply System for Bangladesh Army, A Japanese tourism website, a platform named Student2Student, a paradigm shift in senior leaving named scoreboard for life, and many more. She’s a Confident, Genuinely dedicated human being towards her goals and the tech industry, with a wide array of expertise to offer.

IUT Computer Science & Engineering Department is pleased to inform you that Ferdous Mahmud Shaon, Chief Operating Officer, Cefalo has agreed to be present as a guest speaker in the IUT CSE Industry-Academia Collaboration Program 20.1.

Shaon has an experience of more than 15 years as a software engineering professional with a proven track record of large scale enterprise applications development, systems engineering & integration, technical project management, leadership and management of cross-functional high-performance agile teams.

Shaon has hands-on work experience in building and delivering high-quality complex software solutions for leading companies across the globe.
Before joining Cefalo, he has also worked for multinational IT companies like Escenic and Vizrt, where he was involved in the development of numerous small to large scale applications, including a large enterprise CMS using Java and related technologies.

He is leading the R&D operations of a Norway based software company, Cefalo, designated as Chief Operating Officer for the last 5 years. During this period, he has set up a team of 100+ highly skilled engineers, providing software development & consultancy services to build 20+ medium to large scale enterprise applications operating in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, UK and all over Europe. Besides, his active presence has helped his company, Cefalo to grow more than two times within four years.
