আলোর পাঠশালা - Alor Pathshala

বেশ কিছুদিন ধরে লিখে আসছিলাম বাংলাদেশে অতীতে আগ্নেয়গিরির অস্তিত্ব ছিল এবং ধারণা করি সীতাকুন্ডে সুপ্ত আগ্নেয়গিরি থাকার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। এর স্বপক্ষে শক্তিশালী কোন তথ্যপ্রমাণ না থাকলেও ১৭০০ সালের দিকে একটি অগ্ন্যুৎপাত ঘটেছিল বলে প্রথম আলোতেও একটি প্রতিবেদন হয়েছে। ভারতের হায়দ্রাবাদ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমূদ্রবিদ্যা ও পরিবেশ বিজ্ঞানের বিজ্ঞানী এম ইসমাইল, কে শ্রীনিবাস এবং ডি সাহা শক্তিশালী একটি তথ্য সামনে এনেছে। তাদের গবেষণায় উঠে এসেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ও বাংলাদেশের ভূপৃষ্ঠের ১৬ থেকে ১৮ কিলোমিটার নীচে ব্যাসল্টের বিশাল পুরুত্ব রয়েছে যার উপর পলি জমে বাংলাদেশের ভূমির আজকের অবস্থা।
এছাড়াও বাংলাদেশের বরেন্দ্র এলাকায় ভূপৃষ্ঠ থেকে সামান্য নীচেই ব্যাসল্ট রয়েছে। আগ্নেয়গিরির ম্যাগমা শীতল হয়ে তৈরী হয় এই ব্যাসল্ট। কিছুদিন আগে চট্টগ্রামের একজন কিছু ফসিলের মত বস্তুর ছবি দিয়েছে যেগুলো আগ্নেয়শিলা বলে প্রতীয়মান হয় আর এগুলো তারা পেয়েছে বাঁশবাড়ীয়া সৈকতে যা সীতাকুন্ডের সন্নিকটে। আজ নতুন আরও কিছু শিলা হাতে এসেছে যেগুলো বায়োলাইট বলে জানা যায়। এই বায়োলাইট তৈরী হয় আগ্নেয়গিরির অগ্ন্যুৎপাতের কারণে।

আজ এই শিলা পেয়ে আমার ধারণা আরও পোক্ত হয়েছে বাংলাদেশে অতীতে আগ্নেয়গিরি ছিল এবং এখনও সুপ্ত থাকার সম্ভাবনা প্রবল বিশেষ করে সীতাকুন্ড, মৌলভীবাজার এলাকায়। আগ্নেয়গিরির অস্তিত্ত্বের সাথে রেয়ার আর্থসহ খনিজ সম্ভারের একটি যোগসূত্র রয়েছে। সম্প্রতি দেশে রেয়ার আর্থের বিভিন্ন উপাদান খুঁজে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে তাই হয়ত অচিরেই আমরা আগ্নেয়গিরি এবং রেয়ার আর্থের বিশাল সম্ভার সম্পর্কে আরও সন্ধান পেতে পারি।

একটি গ্রামে ছিলো রফিক, জন এবং সোহেল। তারা তিনজনই উচ্চশিক্ষিত, কিন্তু দুর্ভাগ্যবশত চাকরি পায়নি। সরকারি চাকরির বয়সসীমা ৩০ বছর হওয়ায় তাদের চিন্তা যেন আর ফুরায় না। ২৯ পার হয়ে ৩০-এ পা দিয়েছে তারা, আর যেন প্রতিটি দিন বুকের ভিতর দম বন্ধ হওয়ার মতো মনে হয়।
