𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞!
We are proud to share that Civiquity was presented at the Get Engaged Conference organized by Global Higher Education Alliance for the 21st Century (GHEA21), hosted by BRAC University.
The project was presented before an inspiring audience of Civic Engagement Fellows, alumni and leaders in civic engagement, including 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹 (𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲), 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗻 (𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲), 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗱 (𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗚𝗛𝗘𝗔𝟮𝟭), 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻 (𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗧𝘂𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗭𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁 (𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗢𝗦𝗨𝗡 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁).
Presenting Civiquity was more than an opportunity to showcase our work. It was an opportunity to listen. The thoughtful questions, constructive feedback and diverse perspectives challenged us to think more critically about the project's direction, sustainability and long-term impact.
During the poster presentation, many Bangladeshi students engaged with Civiquity and described it as a timely and much-needed initiative. They shared that the project addresses a significant gap in accessible legal information and appreciated its focus on empowering women through practical legal awareness. Their questions, reflections, and encouragement reaffirmed the relevance of Civiquity and strengthened our commitment to developing solutions that respond to real community needs.
These conversations strengthened our commitment to building a practical, community-centered initiative that makes legal information more accessible, particularly for women navigating abuse and legal barriers. The insights gained at the conference will help shape the next phase of Civiquity as we move toward community workshops, partnerships and on-the-ground engagement.
