The first-ever “North Bengal Students Reunion Fair–2026” was organized by the North Bengal Students Association at the Bangla Campus of Dhaka Central University.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Sarjis Alam, Saif Mustafiz, Kashfia, and Mahin Sarkar, among others.
Although Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, had expressed his intention to attend, he was ultimately unable to join due to official commitments and a busy schedule.
During the program, the invited guests shared inspiring words and thoughtful messages aimed at encouraging and motivating students from the North Bengal region.
For the students of North Bengal, this reunion fair became a memorable celebration of unity, aspiration, and shared belonging — a gathering filled with warmth, connection, and hope for the future.

Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha in Narayanganj, a 700 KG buffalo named “Donald Trump” is drawing major attention for its distinctive blonde hair and pinkish appearance. According to the owner’s family, the name was inspired purely by the animal’s striking look — and it has already become one of the season’s most talked-about attractions.

A recent admission notice issued by Badrunnesa Campus, Dhaka Central University regarding Honours 2nd Year enrollment has sparked renewed discussion among students. According to the published notice, students who successfully passed the 1st Year Honours examinations for the 2023–2024 academic session have been instructed to submit the prescribed fees in order to complete their 2nd Year admission process.
The matter has drawn particular attention in light of recent directives from the High Court and updated policies introduced by the Ministry of Education, which emphasized that regularly enrolled students should not be subjected to re-admission fees. Despite these directives, concerns continue to emerge from various institutions regarding the collection of fees under different titles or categories.
As a result, questions have also been raised surrounding the notice issued by Badrunnesa Government Women’s College, particularly regarding the exact purpose and classification of the collected fees, and whether such charges are fully aligned with the prevailing policy framework and official guidelines.
Students have called for greater transparency, clear institutional clarification, and an official position on the matter. Ensuring financial accountability and the proper implementation of educational policies within academic institutions remains an important and timely concern.

Shaplanama Archive: Another Endeavor to Preserve History Through Responsibility
Despite overwhelming busyness, limited resources, lack of cooperation, and zero funding, efforts are continuing to build the “Shaplanama Archive.” Just as the printed documentation of Shaplanama was completed amid numerous challenges, this archive site too is being pursued from a deep sense of responsibility and commitment — InshaAllah.
One of the greatest strengths behind this initiative has been the sincere support and moral encouragement from scholars and writers, turning the project into a truly collective effort. As the organizers describe it, “Shaplanama belongs to everyone.”
Building a comprehensive archive site is an extremely complex and time-consuming undertaking. Therefore, the project is currently seeking full-scale funding support as well as passionate young volunteers, particularly for data collection and archival work.
