The Risk Decision Making Lab in the Department of Geography & the Environment at the University of Alabama is seeking a motivated Master’s student for a Research Assistant position starting Fall 2026.

Position Overview
This opportunity is ideal for students interested in qualitative environmental science research, particularly in understanding risk, vulnerability, and resilience related to flood hazards and social systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct qualitative data collection, including interviews
• Perform document and policy analysis
• Assist with data coding and thematic analysis (NVivo, Atlas.ti, or similar tools)
• Support literature reviews and synthesis
• Contribute to academic writing and publications

Required Qualifications
