A graduate of 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲, she has completed one of the most challenging journeys in education, and she has done it with grace, dedication, and an unshakable spirit.

▶ The Millennium Fellowship is a global, semester-long student leadership development program presented by United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and Millennium Campus Network (MCN).

The Millennium Fellowship Class of 2026 represents an extraordinary global community of emerging student leaders.

■ 76,000+ young leaders applied for the Class of 2026.
■ Applications came from 6,000+ campuses across 170+ nations.
■ Only 330+ campuses worldwide approximately 5% ,were selected to host Millennium Fellowship cohorts.

✰ This makes the selection of 9 NextGen Doctors members an achievement we are incredibly proud to celebrate.

𝗕𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟵 𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 — 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡, 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 & 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣

This achievement was built through months of guidance, mentorship, training, coordination, and continuous support.

Our Founder & CEO, Shahriar Hossain Shagor, served as the Project Lead & Team Lead for this initiative.

➮ From the beginning, he worked with students to explain the Millennium Fellowship application process, clarify requirements, provide strategic guidance, conduct training sessions, review applications, and support applicants throughout their preparation.

➮ Beyond the 9 selected members of NextGen Doctors, he also helped 300–400 students across Bangladesh understand and navigate the Millennium Fellowship application process.

➥ His mission was not simply to help students submit applications.

𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆.

He didn't simply guide from the sidelines.

As Project Lead and Team Lead, Shahriar coordinated the initiative from conceptualization to ex*****on, provided strategic direction, supported applicants individually, and helped students approach the process with greater clarity and confidence.

দেশের প্রথম রোবোটিক সার্জারি — বাংলাদেশের চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানে ঐতিহাসিক মাইলফলক!

আলহামদুলিল্লাহ। বাংলাদেশের চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানের ইতিহাসে যুক্ত হলো এক নতুন ও গর্বের অধ্যায়।

গত ৩১ আগস্ট ২০২৬, রাজধানীর United Healthcare-এ সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে বাংলাদেশের প্রথম পূর্ণাঙ্গ রোবোটিক সার্জারি—যা দেশের Medical Innovation ও Advanced Healthcare-এর ক্ষেত্রে নিঃসন্দেহে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ।

একদিনেই Medbot Toumai Endoscopic Surgical Robot-এর সহায়তায় দুটি জটিল অস্ত্রোপচার সম্পন্ন করেন অধ্যাপক ডা. রফিকুস সালেহীন ও অধ্যাপক ডা. সামছাদ জাহান (শেলী)।

✪ কেন বাংলাদেশের Robotic Surgery এত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ?

রোবোটিক সার্জারি শুধু একটি নতুন প্রযুক্তি নয়—এটি আধুনিক চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানের ভবিষ্যতের দিকে বাংলাদেশের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অগ্রযাত্রা।

➤ ৩৬০° পর্যন্ত ঘূর্ণনক্ষম রোবোটিক আর্ম — জটিল অস্ত্রোপচারে সূক্ষ্ম ও নিয়ন্ত্রিত মুভমেন্টের সুযোগ।

➤ 3D Visualization Technology — শরীরের অভ্যন্তরের অংশ আরও পরিষ্কারভাবে দেখার সুবিধা।

➤ কম কাটাছেঁড়া ও কম রক্তক্ষরণ — নির্দিষ্ট ধরনের অস্ত্রোপচারে রোগীর জন্য সম্ভাব্য সুবিধা।

➤ দ্রুত Recovery-এর সম্ভাবনা — অনেক ক্ষেত্রে কম Invasive Surgery রোগীর সুস্থ হয়ে ওঠার সময় কমাতে পারে।

◼ এটি শুধু চিকিৎসার উন্নতি নয়—এটি বাংলাদেশের জন্য একটি অর্থনৈতিক সম্ভাবনাও।

রোবোটিক সার্জারির জন্য বাংলাদেশ থেকে প্রতিবছর বিপুল সংখ্যক রোগী বিদেশে চিকিৎসা নিতে যান। ফলে দেশের বিপুল পরিমাণ অর্থ বিদেশে চলে যায়।

দেশেই যদি Advanced Robotic Surgery-এর সুযোগ আরও বিস্তৃত হয়, তাহলে ভবিষ্যতে রোগীদের বিদেশমুখিতা কমানোর পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশে আধুনিক চিকিৎসা অবকাঠামো ও Medical Technology আরও শক্তিশালী হতে পারে।

★ কিন্তু একটি প্রশ্ন থেকেই যায়...

এমন একটি ঐতিহাসিক Medical Milestone নিয়ে আমাদের গণমাধ্যম ও সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে কতটা আলোচনা হয়েছে?

দেশের প্রথম পূর্ণাঙ্গ Robotic Surgery—এমন একটি ঘটনা যা চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞান, প্রযুক্তি, গবেষণা ও বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যৎ Healthcare System-এর সঙ্গে সরাসরি সম্পর্কিত।

অথচ আমরা অনেক সময় বিনোদনমূলক বা তুলনামূলকভাবে ছোট বিষয়কে ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা প্রচার করি, কিন্তু Science, Healthcare & Medical Innovation-এর বড় অর্জনগুলো যথেষ্ট আলোচনায় আসে না।

☛ আমাদের প্রশ্নটি তাই খুব simple:

আমরা যদি নিজেদের দেশের বৈজ্ঞানিক ও চিকিৎসাবিষয়ক অর্জনকে যথাযথভাবে তুলে না ধরি, তাহলে তরুণ প্রজন্ম কীভাবে Science, Research, Technology ও Innovation-এর প্রতি আরও আগ্রহী হবে?

This recognition represents countless hours of dedication, thoughtful evaluation, and a genuine commitment to nurturing young writers and emerging voices across the Commonwealth.

As a judge of the competition, Shahriar brought his experience in storytelling, critical thinking, communication, and youth mentorship to the judging process.

𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐳 - a remarkable example of discipline, resilience, determination, and national pride.

Officer Cadet Al Rafi Lamiz has successfully completed the prestigious 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) , one of the world's most renowned institutions for military leadership and officer training.

But the achievement goes even further.

𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗨𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗

He has been awarded the prestigious King Hussein Award, recognizing the international officer cadet who demonstrates the greatest improvement throughout the course.

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 - 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘸𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.

He was also presented with the Sandhurst Medal, awarded to international officer cadets upon successful completion of their training at RMAS.

A symbol of service, endurance, leadership, and excellence.

From Bangladesh to one of the world's most prestigious military academies, Officer Cadet Al Rafi Lamiz has demonstrated the caliber, discipline, and potential of Bangladeshi talent on the international stage.

His achievement also stands as a meaningful representation of the longstanding UK–Bangladesh defence relationship and the opportunities created through international military cooperation.

He carried the flag of Bangladesh with honor, integrity, and excellence.

And today, Bangladesh celebrates with him.
