The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, United International University, is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Md. Shohrab Hossain as a full-time Professor.

Prof. Hossain brings more than two decades of distinguished academic, research, and teaching experience, with extensive expertise in Cybersecurity, Network and Computer Security, Malware Analysis, Intrusion Detection, Software Defined Networking, and Network Security.

He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma, USA, with a CGPA of 4.00/4.00, and has built an impressive research portfolio with publications in internationally renowned journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Access, IEEE ICC, and IEEE GLOBECOM.

Beyond research and teaching, Prof. Hossain has contributed directly to strengthening Bangladesh's cybersecurity capacity through national-level Cybersecurity training under the EDGE project and training for government officials under BGD e-GOV CIRT. His recognitions also include the University of Oklahoma Overall Outstanding Graduate Student Award, along with numerous academic and professional distinctions.

His joining represents a significant addition to UIU's academic and research strength in Cybersecurity and Network Security, and will further strengthen our commitment to advanced research, industry-relevant education, and the development of future cybersecurity professionals.

A graduate of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Mr. Mondal brings an impressive combination of academic research, hardware development, and hands-on engineering experience. He has 49 published research papers with more than 420 citations, alongside extensive work in drone-based systems, autonomous and underwater robotics, embedded systems, power electronics, and real-time control.

His achievements also include 52 national and international awards across robotics, programming, research, and innovation. His experience spans international robotics competitions, autonomous aerial platforms, Formula SAE electric vehicle development, and research in advanced power-electronics systems.

At UIU, he will be contributing to teaching and mentoring students, including taking the VLSI, Microprocessor, and Power Electronics courses, while bringing his research and practical engineering experience into the classroom.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), United International University (UIU), is pleased to celebrate the success of our graduate, Md. Sadman Haque, who has begun his professional journey as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer at Silicon Orchard Ltd.

Sadman completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from UIU in March 2026 and is currently pursuing his M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering (MSCSE) at UIU. Alongside his academic and professional growth, he has also contributed to research with a publication in a Q1-ranked journal, reflecting his strong interest in both advanced research and emerging technologies.

During his internship at Silicon Orchard Ltd., Sadman demonstrated his technical capabilities, dedication, and commitment to continuous learning, successfully transitioning from an intern to a full-time member of the Machine Learning team.

His areas of technical expertise include Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision Language Models (VLMs), Computer Vision, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)—fields that are playing an increasingly important role in shaping the future of intelligent technologies.

Strengthening Research Culture Through Integrity, Innovation, and Collaboration

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), United International University (UIU), through its newly constituted Research and Innovation Committee (RIC), organized a departmental research seminar aimed at strengthening the department’s research culture and promoting responsible, high-quality scholarly practices.

The session emphasized the importance of aligning research practices with international standards of academic integrity, maintaining high standards of research quality, and ensuring compliance with university policies related to scholarly publications.

As part of its broader commitment to research and innovation, the Department of CSE has formed the Research and Innovation Committee (RIC) to foster a stronger research environment, encourage innovation and quality publications, and promote scholarly engagement among both faculty members and students.
