Celia Shahnaz: Seeking Support as a Candidate for 2026-27 IEEE Region 11 Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect.
Dear Colleague,
I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve you and our community as a candidate for 2026-27 IEEE Region 11 Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect ( https://www.celiashahnaz.com )
After volunteering in IEEE for more than 24 years (WIE, Section, Society, Region, IEEE Committees, EAB, MGA as the first ever elected IEEE WIE Committee Chair and Liaison to IEEE Board of Directors), I feel myself ready to serve for the greater goals of IEEE and New IEEE R11 that includes countries, such as Australia, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Fiji, Laos, Myanmar, and Nepal and Maldives.
For a diverse R11, my focus will be to create an intensive relationship with local leadership of all organizational units (OUs), such as Councils, Sections/Subsections, AGS, Chapters, SBs, and SB Society Chapters to enhance member engagement, technical skill, research and innovation, membership growth, and retention. Also, to ensure recognition and representations of R11 members in leadership positions across all OUs and major boards.
I am reaching out to you to seek your support. Please circulate this message to your colleagues, friends, and students having status Graduate Students or higher.
