বাংলাদেশের ফার্মাসিউটিক্যাল ইন্ডাস্ট্রির উত্থান নিয়ে একটা মজার গল্প শোনাই—কীভাবে এটা একদম ছোটখাটো থেকে এখন সারা বিশ্বে নাম করছে!
আগেকার দিনে আমরা ওষুধের জন্য বিদেশের ওপর ভরসা করতাম—বড় বড় মাল্টিন্যাশনাল কোম্পানিগুলো রাজত্ব করত, আর আমাদের দেশি কোম্পানিগুলোর তেমন জায়গা ছিল না। তারপর ১৯৮২ সালে এলো ড্রাগ কন্ট্রোল অর্ডিন্যান্স—একদম গেম চেঞ্জার! এটা আমাদের স্থানীয় কোম্পানিগুলোকে শক্তি দিল, বিদেশিদের দাপট কমালো, আর শুরু হলো এক নতুন যুগ।
৯০’র দশক আর ২০০০’র শুরুতে আমাদের ফার্মা কোম্পানিগুলো ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ল—আধুনিক টেকনোলজি, গবেষণা, আর বিশ্বমানের কোয়ালিটি নিয়ে কাজ শুরু করল। দেখতে দেখতে বাংলাদেশ শুধু নিজেদের চাহিদা মেটানোর জন্য নয়, পুরো বিশ্বের বাজারে নামতে প্রস্তুত হয়ে গেল!
এখন কী অবস্থা? আমরা নিজেদের ওষুধের চাহিদার ৯৭% পূরণ করছি আর ১৫০+ দেশে রপ্তানি করছি—এমনকি আমেরিকা, ইউকে, আর ইউরোপের মতো বড় বাজারেও! এই ৩ বিলিয়ন ডলারের ইন্ডাস্ট্রি এখন জেনেরিক, বায়োটেক, আর API-তে বিশ্ব নেতা হওয়ার স্বপ্ন দেখছে।
