Lets look at an example:
I walked into the Bathroom and looked in the mirror before mindlessly turning on the faucet. I leaned on the sink and squinted my eyes to take a closer look in the mirror. I looked fresh, although the dark circles were evident. I washed my hand thoroughly before brushing my teeth with the toothbrush. I had to take the extra toothpaste tube out from the cabinet. I wiped my hands with the towel. Before jumping in the shower, I used the toilet, threw my clothes in the laundry basket and had a relaxing bath in the bathtub.

Coherence হলো লেখার ভেতরের ভাব বা আইডিয়ার যৌক্তিক সাজানো, যা পাঠককে মূল বিষয়টি সহজে বুঝতে সাহায্য করে। আর Cohesion হলো বাক্যগুলোকে একসাথে ধরে রাখার ব্যাকরণগত আঠা বা সংযোগ, যা এক বাক্যের সাথে অন্য বাক্যের মসৃণ মিল তৈরি করে।

It’s time for a quick grammar showdown! Which of these sentences sounds natural and is grammatically correct?

Option A: The group of students study in the library every afternoon.

Option B: The group of students studies in the library every afternoon.

🤔 Does the verb agree with the subject?

More importantly... which subject? 🤯

In English, the verb always agrees with the main subject, not the noun that happens to be closest to it.

This is where many English learners get confused. When a sentence contains phrases like of, with, along with, or as well as, it's easy to look at the wrong noun and choose the wrong verb.

For example:

📌 A box of chocolates is on the table.
(Not are, because the main subject is box.)

📌 The bouquet of flowers looks beautiful.
(Not look, because the main subject is bouquet.)

💡 So before choosing is/are, has/have, or study/studies, ask yourself:
Which word is the actual subject of the sentence?

⚽ Goal

The moment everyone waits for! A goal is scored when the ball completely crosses the goal line.
বল পুরোপুরি গোললাইনের ভেতরে গেলে সেটাই Goal।

🧤 Goalkeeper

The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to use their hands (inside the penalty area) to stop goals.
Goalkeeper-এর কাজ হলো প্রতিপক্ষের Goal ঠেকানো।

👨‍⚖️ Referee

The referee controls the match and makes sure everyone follows the rules.
খেলার সব নিয়ম মানানো এবং সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার দায়িত্ব Referee-এর।

▶️ Kick-off

A kick-off is how every match—and the second half—officially starts.
খেলার শুরু এবং দ্বিতীয়ার্ধ শুরু হয় Kick-off দিয়ে।

⚽ Penalty Kick

A penalty kick is awarded when a serious foul happens inside the penalty area.
Penalty Box-এর ভেতরে Foul হলে Penalty Kick দেওয়া হয়।

🎯 Free Kick

A free kick is awarded after a foul outside the penalty area.
Penalty Area-এর বাইরে Foul হলে Free Kick দেওয়া হয়।

🚩 Corner Kick

A corner kick is awarded when the defending team touches the ball last before it crosses the goal line.
ডিফেন্ডিং টিমের ছোঁয়ায় বল Goal Line-এর বাইরে গেলে Corner Kick হয়।

🚩 Offside

A player is offside if they receive the ball while unfairly ahead of the second-last defender.
সহজ ভাষায়, অন্যায্যভাবে ডিফেন্ডারকে পেছনে ফেলে বল নিলে Offside ধরা হয়।

🚫 Foul

A foul is an illegal action, such as pushing, tripping, or kicking an opponent.
নিয়ম ভেঙে প্রতিপক্ষকে ধাক্কা দেওয়া, ফেলে দেওয়া বা লাথি মারা Foul হিসেবে গণ্য হয়।

🟨 Yellow Card & 🟥 Red Card

A Yellow Card is a warning. A Red Card means the player must leave the field immediately.
Yellow Card হলো সতর্কবার্তা, আর Red Card পেলে খেলোয়াড়কে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে মাঠ ছাড়তে হয়।
