Café Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and specialty beverages
• Greet customers and accurately take orders
• Operate coffee equipment, including espresso machines
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the café
• Assist with opening and closing procedures

Qualifications:
• Prior experience in food or customer service is an advantage
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends
• University students are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare espresso-based beverages and brewed coffee to company standards
• Support senior baristas in daily operations
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
• Provide customer service and basic menu guidance
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and quality control

Qualifications:
• Strong interest in coffee and café operations
• Previous experience is an advantage but not required
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow instructions
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends
• University students are encouraged to apply

We’re Hiring – Senior Barista

Awake Coffee Roasters is looking for an experienced and skilled coffee professional to join us as a Senior Barista. If you are passionate about coffee, enjoy leading by example, and want to contribute to both café operations and structured barista training, we’d love to hear from you.

📌 Role Overview

This role is responsible for maintaining high coffee and service standards while actively supporting Awake Coffee Academy’s barista training programs. The Senior Barista will not only lead daily café operations but also assist in training sessions, demonstrate techniques, and help ensure consistent skill development across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality espresso-based drinks and maintain consistent coffee standards
• Produce clean and consistent latte art during daily service
• Act as a support trainer for Awake Coffee Academy sessions (demonstrations, guidance, and practical support)
• Assist in training and skill development of junior baristas and café assistants
• Lead shifts when required and ensure smooth service flow
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and operational standards
• Support guest service, including handling issues in a calm and professional way
• Help maintain consistency between academy training and café ex*****on

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista in a café is required
• Good skills in espresso preparation and must be confident in latte art
• Strong understanding of coffee basics and willingness to improve further
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment
• Able to take responsibility during shifts and guide others when needed
• Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and peak hours

• Reports to: Outlet Manager / Training Manager
• Supports: Awake Coffee Academy Training Team
• Mentors: Junior Baristas & Café Assistants
