Tuhfatul Atfaal - Tracing Workbook

This tracing workbook is based on the well-known Tajweed poem Tuhfatul Atfāl by Imām Sulaymān al-Jamzūrī (رحمه الله). The poem has been taught and memorized by students for generations as an essential first step in learning Tajweed.

Imām al-Jamzūrī was a respected scholar, and his work is firmly rooted in the classical tradition of Qur’anic recitation. His teaching is connected through the scholarly chain of Tajweed to Imām Ibn al-Jazarī (رحمه الله), the leading authority of this science.

Through guided tracing, learners practice Arabic handwriting while becoming familiar with key Tajweed terms. Suitable for homeschooling families, madrasahs, and Islamic schools as a gentle and structured introduction to Tajweed. An ideal starting point for a child’s journey toward correct and confident Qur’an recitation.

Aug 28 & 30 | 7–8 PM | Online

Here’s what the trial includes:

• Phonemic awareness — children will learn to hear and separate sounds, recognize beginning / middle / ending sounds, and play with sounds; this is the foundation for blending and fluent reading later.

• Introduction to a few key sounds: s, m, a (examples: s—sun, m—mom, a—cat).

• Sound games and sound-writing practice.

• Instant feedback and routine-based guidance during class — helping children build focus and listening skills.

• Classes are in English, with Bangla support if needed. Prior knowledge of letters is not required.

The trial is open to children aged 5–8 years old.

⚠️ Important: There will be no story reading or reading tasks in the trial — we only build the sound foundation.

মাহিরা ক্লাস ওয়ানে পড়ে, কিন্তু বই খুললেই থেমে থেমে শব্দ বানিয়ে পড়ত।
মা ভাবতেন, “অক্ষরের সাউন্ড তো জানে, তাহলে সাবলীলভাবে পড়তে পারছে না কেন?” 🤔

কারণ মাহিরার ধ্বনিগত সচেতনতা (phonemic awareness) আর ধ্বনি মিলিয়ে পড়া (blending)-এ ঘাটতি ছিল।
সাউন্ড জানলেও শব্দ বানাতে পারত না, তাই বাক্য পড়লে রোবটের মতো, নির্জীব স্বরে পড়ত — গল্পে প্রাণ আনতে পারত না।

📖 প্রথম ধাপ: সঠিকভাবে শব্দ জোড়া লাগানো
📖 দ্বিতীয় ধাপ: ধীরে ধীরে বাক্য পড়া
📖 শেষ ধাপ: গল্পে প্রাণ এনে সাবলীলতা (fluency), সঠিক উচ্চারণ (accuracy) এবং এক্সপ্রেসিভ ভাষায় পড়া
