History was made at BUP, thanks to the Department of English, as we celebrated Shakespeare Day with our very first Open Stage Drama performance! It was truly an unforgettable experience that brought the beauty of William Shakespeare to life in such a vibrant and accessible way.
A massive thank you goes out to Zerin Tasnim Ahmed Apu for her creative vision and guidance in The Maker’s Mirror, a brilliant original creation. A special note of gratitude also goes to the BUP Literature & Drama Club for organizing such a spectacular event.
We are incredibly proud of the five talented performers from English-09 who graced the stage:
• Fatema Ferdousi Supti as “Cleopatra” in The Maker’s Mirror.
• Anika Nisat as “The Dark Lady” in The Maker’s Mirror.
• Israt Jahan Emu as “Viola” in The Maker’s Mirror.
• Sushmoy Ghosh as the “Prince of Aragon” in The Merchant of Venice.
• Tanjimul Kabir as the “Prince of Morocco” in The Merchant of Venice.
Watching our friends shine on stage was a proud moment for all of us in English-09. Their dedication was evident in their thoughtfully crafted costumes and powerful portrayals of their characters. Congratulations to everyone involved on this wonderful achievement.

As we celebrated the legacy of William Shakespeare at BUP through a thoughtful seminar and a vibrant cultural segment filled with drama and recitation organized by BUP Literature & Drama Club, the event was brought to life by our incredible anchors, Khadiza Azuba Angela, Dipanjan Halder, Fairuj Nowar Odri, and Ahnaf Tahmid.
From guiding the seminar to energizing the open-space performances, their confidence and coordination kept everything smooth and engaging. BUP Eng 09 is truly proud of you all for making the day even more memorable.

Independence Day marks the glorious emergence of a sovereign spirit, a day when the aspirations of millions transcended the shadows of oppression into the radiant light of liberty.
It is a solemn tribute to the martyrs whose monumental sacrifices sculpted our national identity and draped our horizon in the resilient hues of green and red.
Today, we celebrate not just a date in history, but the enduring legacy of a nation born from valor and destined for greatness.

On this March 25th, we observe Genocide Day, a stark commemoration of the night when systematic atrocities sought to extinguish the Bengali identity. This solemn anniversary serves as an indomitable testament to the martyrs whose sacrificial blood became the bedrock of our liberation. We honor their eternal legacy, ensuring the world never forgets the profound resilience born from that darkness.
