A four-member delegation from the Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC), Daffodil International University, and the Social Business Students’ Forum participated in the Book Talk on “Small Loans, Big Dreams” by Alex Counts, held on 19 January 2026, where the Chairman of the Grameen Group, the Chairman of Grameen Bank, the book’s author Alex Counts, and other distinguished guests were present.

The book highlights how microfinance, pioneered by Dr. Muhammad Yunus through the Grameen Bank, empowers underprivileged people—especially women—to overcome inequality by creating sustainable livelihoods.

Celebrating 10 Years of Partnership & Success

On 24 December 2015, the partnership between Daffodil International University (DIU) and the Yunus Centre led to the establishment of the Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC) at DIU. This historic milestone marked the first YSBC in Bangladesh and the 16th Yunus Social Business Centre internationally.

Over the past decade, this successful collaboration has advanced social business short-term programs, research, innovation, and youth engagement, creating meaningful and sustainable social impact. As we celebrate this 10-year journey, we express our sincere gratitude to all who have contributed to making this partnership impactful and enduring.

The Social Business Students’ Forum (SBSF), one of the largest student organizations dedicated to raising awareness and nurturing aspiring social entrepreneurs in social business, recently celebrated 13 years of excellence at Daffodil International University.
Since its founding on 12-12-2012, SBSF has inspired teamwork, dedication, and a strong commitment to creating social impact through business.

As part of the 14th Social Business Exposure Program 2025, organized by the Social Business Students Forum (SBSF) and supported by the Yunus Social Business Centre, DIU, around 60 students from various departments of DIU visited the Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing today. As one of the visionary initiatives of Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus, GCCN plays a significant role in transforming the healthcare sector through social business.

During the visit, participants explored the entire campus, including the labs, classrooms, library, and other facilities, gaining valuable insights into their academic and social impact activities.

On 11 November 2025, one of the pioneers of Social Business, Mr. Abdul Hai Khan, Executive Vice Chairman of Grameen Trust and Co-Chairman of Grameen Group, visited Daffodil International University (DIU) to conduct a session at the Social Business Exposure Program 2025. During the session, he shared his valuable insights on building a strong foundation for social business with DIU’s aspiring social entrepreneurs.

During his visit, he also met with the Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of DIU, Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, and exchanged ideas on the current trends and initiatives of both organizations—DIU and Grameen—to promote and strengthen the practice of social business.
