With deepest sorrow and heartfelt respect, we mourn the passing of Principal Sir (PRESIDENCY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL), Lt Col. Ziauddin Ahmed, Bir Uttam, who left us today around 4:30 PM. (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un)
As O and A Level students and alumni, we have lost more than an academic leader—we have lost a mentor, a role model, and a guiding light who shaped countless lives with his vision, discipline, and compassion. His presence was a pillar of strength and integrity in our community.
We pray that Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings and grants him the highest place in Jannatul Ferdous. Ameen. He may have left this world, but his impact on our lives will live on forever

Mr. Azim Uddin Ahmed, one of the founders and former Chairman of North South University, passed away this afternoon while undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un.

We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Mr. Azim Uddin Ahmed, a distinguished entrepreneur in industry and education. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family.

Mrs Yasmeen Murshed, Founder Chairperson, Scholastica School passed away this evening (Thursday, 31 July) at 8:31 pm at United Hospital. She was 80 years old.
She left behind her son, Maher Murshed, and daughter, Madiha Murshed. Her Namaaz e Janaaza will be held on Friday August 1, 2025 at Azad Masjid, Gulshan after Jummah. Her body will be taken to the Scholastica Senior Campus, Uttara (Sector 1) at 2:30 pm. Her second Namaaz e Janaaza will be held at 4 pm at the campus. Afterwards, she will be buried at Banani Graveyard.

Mahreen Chowdhury, a 42-year-old teacher at Milestone School in Uttara, tragically died after suffering critical burns while rescuing children during the Uttara plane crash.

Witnesses reported that she guided at least 20 students to safety near the school gate before the aircraft burst into flames.

Despite sustaining burns to 80% of her body, she managed to tell her husband she had been leading children to safety before collapsing.

Admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burn unit, she later succumbed to her injuries. Her bravery and selfless sacrifice have deeply moved the nation, with students, colleagues, & the wider community mourning the loss of a dedicated educator & hero who prioritized her students lives above her own.

সকালে লামিয়া রা’গ করে স্কুলে গিয়েছিল - বাবার ওপর অভিমা’ন ছিল, গত শুক্রবার ঘুরতে নিয়ে যায়নি বলে

মা স্কুলে নামিয়ে দিয়ে আদর করে বলেছিলেন, "বিকেলে নিয়ে যাবো মা, মন খারাপ কোরো না।"

কিন্তু সেই বিকেল আর এ’ল না…
