We are delighted to share that our mentor, Prof. Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan, renowned academic, visionary researcher, and passionate advocate for sustainability, currently Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET, and Director of the Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT), BUET, has been awarded the prestigious Lien Environmental Fellowship (LEF) Project Implementation Award 2025 by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

His awarded project, “Assessment of Pollution Impact on Surface and Ground Water Quality, Water Footprint, and Health of Residents in the Textile Industrial Zone of Greater Dhaka,” reflects his unwavering commitment to tackling Bangladesh’s critical environmental and public health challenges. Supported by a grant of SGD 118,000, the project will provide vital insights into water quality, pollution control, and sustainable industrial practices; paving the way for cleaner water, healthier communities, and a greener future.

This recognition is a testament to Prof. Dr. Khan’s exceptional leadership, innovative research, and dedication to creating real-world impact. His mentorship continues to inspire every member of Team BET to push boundaries, pursue excellence, and contribute meaningfully to environmental sustainability.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan for this remarkable achievement! Under his visionary leadership, BET is committed to driving knowledge, innovation, and a sustainable future for Bangladesh and beyond.

On Wednesday, the Textile Analytical Laboratory, BUET had the privilege of hosting Associate Professor Richard D. Webster and Assistant Professor Zhao Wenting from the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

Professor Webster, a distinguished scholar in molecular electrochemistry and environmental chemistry, and Professor Zhao, whose research focuses on nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, and mechanobiology, engaged in an interactive session with our team.

The visit served as an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas and for exploring the integration of advanced research in biotechnology, environmental sciences, textiles, and material sciences. We are sincerely grateful for their valuable insights and look forward to fostering future academic and research collaborations.
