For the first time, an intra-lab collaboration between the Cyber Security Center (CSC) and the Data Science Lab through the Mitacs internship opportunity has achieved a remarkable international research milestone. 🌍🇨🇦

Congratulations to Zakaria Kollol and Jolekha Khatun Nadira for being selected for the prestigious Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) Internship at Algoma University, Canada.

This achievement reflects the growing strength of interdisciplinary collaboration in Cyber Security, Data Science, Federated Learning, Quantum Reinforcement Learning, and Intelligent Threat Defense research.

🎯 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝐂𝐒𝐂_𝐂𝐘𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐖𝐀𝐑 — 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗻-𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗧𝗙 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 | 𝐂𝐒𝐀𝐃 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
When the planning for the competition began, one of the biggest challenges was building a complete 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 (𝐂𝐓𝐅) environment within a limited time & budget. Several vendors demanded a huge amount for event organisation.
Instead of depending entirely on external solutions, a dedicated team stepped forward to take the challenge.
From the very beginning, the team worked on creating ctf challenges, developing the platform, configuring the environment, testing challenges, fixing issues, and preparing the infrastructure completely in-house. Countless hours went behind the scenes to ensure participants could experience a smooth and competitive cybersecurity battleground during 𝐂𝐒𝐀𝐃 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.
This effort was not only about reducing cost — it was about building capability, teamwork, and technical confidence within the Cyber Security Centre.
Special appreciation to everyone who contributed directly and indirectly during the development phase — through coding, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation, media collection, and continuous support.
Sometimes the greatest achievement is not purchasing a solution —

Advancing global collaboration

We are delighted to congratulate two undergraduate students ( Md. Shaminur Rashid and Md. Abu Nayem) from the Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University, on receiving the prestigious Mitacs Globalink Research Award.

They will undertake a 12-week research internship in Canada, in collaboration with Algoma University, working on the project titled
“Quantum-Assisted Web Application Firewall with Automated Rule Generation.”
Each intern will receive CAD 6,000 to support their research activities.
