Starting June 14, Japan is introducing a new system that allows your Residence Card and My Number Card to be combined into a single card.

This means your visa status, work permission, address records, tax records, and official information can be checked more easily than before.

So if you are thinking:

“Immigration will not know.”
“My employer pays cash, so it is safe.”
“Everyone works more than 28 hours.”
“I can explain later.”

You are taking a serious risk.

This may sound harsh, but the best students in Japan don’t work in convenience store, restaurant or Yamato.

They do office works, companies, English teaching and other English related jobs (which doesn’t require Japanese sometimes).

The pay is much higher and you don’t become a “kamla” (laborer). I’m not saying being a “kamla” is bad; all jobs are respectable but expand your horizon to do jobs outside the typical blue-collar works.

(When I was a student, my jobs were English teaching, football coach, event manager, receptionist etc. and my last salary was ¥5,000/hour)

There are a lot of misconceptions about the postgraduate applications for MEXT embassy.

Therefore, I’ll make a video specifically for the postgraduates students tonight about the MEXT embassy recommendation scholarship.

Congratulations 🎉

Success is not about avoiding failure, but rather the ability to learn from it and overcome.
He was rejected from Ritsumeikan University for the ISSE program for the Spring 2026 intake.

Now, he has received a 🎉100% scholarship from the same university in International Relations program for the Fall 2026 intake, just with an MOI.

The MEXT Embassy Scholarship has officially been announced in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and several other countries.

But I’m already seeing a lot of misinformation being shared about the application process and how to actually secure it.

So tonight at 10 PM (Japan time), I’ll be uploading a detailed video breaking down the entire MEXT application process step by step.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Sai. I got the MEXT both in my undergraduate and also postgraduate. I am the founder of Connect Japan - Study Abroad in Japan and many of my students have also gotten the MEXT.

If you’re serious about applying for the MEXT, this is something you don’t want to miss!

May you experience a kind of love like this one day.

On my way to university this morning, an elderly couple got on the bus. They looked like they were in their 80s.

I gave up my seat so the woman could sit. Another girl behind also gave up hers for the man.

But something unexpected happened.

The man didn’t sit. He chose to stand right beside his wife for the entire journey.

The bus moved, stopped, shook a little. He held on, steady, even though he himself looked fragile.

He could have taken the seat. But he stayed standing. Close to her. Watching over her. Making sure she was comfortable.

That moment stayed with me.

Because love isn’t always loud. It’s not always flowers, expensive dinners, or big gestures.

Sometimes, it’s as simple as choosing to stand… protecting the person you love.

It’s been long overdue… but I’ve finally started learning Japanese 🇯🇵

A lot of people don’t know this but I’ve been living in Japan for almost a decade now. I’ve traveled to nearly 45 out of the 47 prefectures, studied both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies here, earned the MEXT scholarship both times, received top student award, Dean’s award and collected more achievements than I ever imagined.

But here’s the truth:

I CANNOT SPEAK JAPANESE.

And when I say that, I really mean it.
I can’t even write my own name. Yes! It’s that bad.

So this year, I decided to change that.

I’ve finally enrolled in an intensive Japanese language course, and today marks Day 1 of learning the Japanese alphabets. As you can see… it’s not great 😅 but I’m genuinely trying.

My goal?
👉 One year from now, I want to be able to communicate effectively in Japanese.

No matter where you are in the world; learn the language of the place you live in. It’s not just about communication. It’s about respect, connection, and truly embracing the culture.

I’ve lived Japan to the fullest already.
But I know, learning the language will make it 10x better.

Let’s see where this journey takes me 🚀
