A good read
Glaciers melting from climate change may reawaken the world’s most dangerous volcanoes If the theory is proven correct, the consequences could be enormous, spelling a much more risky, explosive future.
From 1 February, IELTS becoming completely computer-based is actually a big advantage for candidates. Many assume the exam will become more difficult, but in reality, those who prepare strategically may find it easier to achieve higher scores. There is no pressure of handwriting anymore—no messy corrections or crossing out. You work on a clean screen, stay relaxed, and express your ideas clearly by typing and organizing them efficiently.
For the Reading module, the screen-based format helps save valuable time. You can highlight key information, navigate between questions smoothly, locate answers quickly, and enter responses instantly. With regular practice, many candidates complete this section faster than they ever could on paper.
In Listening, answers are typed directly, allowing you to concentrate fully on the audio. You are still provided with paper and a pen for note-taking, and once you get familiar with the system, the process becomes seamless and stress-free.
The Writing module benefits the most from this change. Previously, many students lost marks due to unclear handwriting or excessive corrections. Now, with consistent keyboard practice, improving writing performance becomes much more achievable. Editing, organizing, and refining ideas is far easier on a computer.
Most importantly, practicing on a laptop now prepares you not only for IELTS but also for life abroad. Academic work, professional tasks, emails, and reports all require strong computer skills. Building this habit early removes exam fear and replaces it with confidence. Eventually, the test starts to feel natural—as if it was designed for you.
In short, IELTS is evolving, and those who adapt early will gain the greatest advantage. Begin computer-based practice now. Make your laptop your study partner, and you’ll soon realize the exam feels less like a challenge and more like a routine task. With the right mindset and preparation, a strong band score will follow.
