After two years of disruption due to war, school is back in session in our village in Al-Jazeera state. I have memories spending the summers here and walking to the school with my grandfather who was the principal here, from whom my mother has her nickname of Bit Al-Nazir (the principals daughter” Though the RSF has stolen whatever they could carry out from the elementary and high schools (including the few desktops we provided ten years ago ), and though the classrooms are exceptionally crowded with ninety students in a room, in sha Allah we will build the school back brick by brick, pen by pen, chalk by chalk, and one young curious mind at a time. I’ve launched a small campaign to help fund the students and just as importantly the teachers, please support. 03/05/2025
