We are absolutely delighted to reveal that Book Showcase 2.0 was held with extraordinary energy, heartfelt creativity, and inspiring participation throughout. The event grew into a celebrated space where young literary writers in the presence of experienced educators pushed the boundaries of conventional learning materials.
Perhaps most impressive was the intellectual depth and artistic care embedded in each book. Practical language frameworks, student-friendly activities, and purposeful content organization showcased a maturity far beyond expectations. These works did not merely teach language, but also invited learners into a meaningful, joyful educational journey.
With thoughtful revision, these books stand poised to establish entirely new standards for language textbooks regionally and globally. Their authenticity, instructional value, and imaginative presentation made every page worth turning.

The Book Showcase 2.0 was held on 5 May 2026 organized by the 9th semester students of the Department of English following the success of the first book showcase last year.
The students designed English language booklets for learners worldwide focusing on the four skills of language with varied lessons and activities. A total of 19 books were developed and showcased.
Mohamned Mozammel Hauque, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shihab Uddin Ahmed, Head, Department of English, Mohammed Abdur Rashid, Professor, Mohammed Jasim Uddin, Associate Professor and other distinguished faculty members of the department were present in the showcase bestowing valuable suggestions and motivations for the amateur book writers.
The showcase was once again supervised by the course teacher, Anika Khan, Lecturer, Department of English.

THEATRE IN A BOX!! 🎭✨
Theory took shape, quite literally!
For Critical Theory and Literary Criticism-I, 8th semester students of the Department of English, Northern University Bangladesh, from Sections B, C, and D transformed dramas and novels into 3D mini theatres, building them layer by layer and scene by scene.
They followed the journey of each text with care, constructing plots, positioning characters, and capturing moments of conflict, climax, and resolution with precision. Some explored symbolism through props, while others focused on structure, yet every model presented a clear and thoughtful interpretation.
This project shows how theoretical ideas can move beyond the page, reshaping the way texts are read, understood, and brought to life.
The project was supervised by Nafisa Nahrin Afra, Lecturer, Dept. of English, NUB.

The Research and Publication Club, Department of English, Northern University Bangladesh, proudly hosted an engaging and thought-provoking session titled “The Research Discourse”. 📚🌿
Today’s discussion on “Interconnected Futures: Environmental Resilience in Nnedi Okorafor’s ‘Moom!’” brought together curious minds, insightful perspectives, and meaningful conversations. From critical reflections to imaginative interpretations, the session truly highlighted the power of literature in shaping a more resilient and interconnected world.
We were honored by the presence of our respected Special guests Head of the Department and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science and deeply grateful to our resource person, Reazul Hassan Turzo, for sharing his valuable insights and guiding the discussion with such clarity and depth.
