Relocation(স্থানান্তর) of tanneries(চামড়া প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণ কারখানা) .
Futile(বৃথা,অকার্যকর) without fully installed CETPs.
The government has yet again issued a warning against tanneries in Hazaribagh threatening to shut down polluting factories if they fail to relocate to the industrial park in Savar within the 72-hour deadline. The Industries Minister has said that a failure to relocate could also result in the cancellation of the allotted plots to the factories.
While we recognise(স্বীকার করা,উপলদ্ধি করা) and commend(প্রশংসা করা) the government on its noble(মহৎ,অভিজাত) intention(উদ্দেশ্য) of reducing pollution by urging factories in Hazaribagh -- declared as the fifth most polluted place in the world by two renowned(বিখ্যাত,প্রসিদ্ধ) research organisations -- to relocate, many questions remain unanswered. For instance, with the incomplete installation(প্রতিষ্ঠা,প্রতিস্থাপন) of central effluent(প্রবাহমান) treatment plants (CETPs) that process pollutants and treat wastewater(বর্জ্যপানি), how will the relocation of tanneries achieve the main purpose of containing pollution? Is it not akin(সদৃশ,একই জাতীয়) to giving factories, once again, legitimate(বৈধ,আইনসঙ্গত) grounds to pollute the new location? It is incomprehensible(দুর্বোধ্য) as to why the CETP project remains unfinished given that the government took up the initiative to relocate tanneries over a decade(দশক) ago. The lack of CETPs in designated areas, where tanneries are supposed to shift to, has prolonged(দীর্ঘায়ীত) the foot-dragging over this issue as it gives owners the pretext(অজুহাত) to delay relocation of their polluting factories.
Apart from completing and implementing(বাস্তবায়ন) the CETP project in a timely manner, the government must enforce the relocation of environment-unfriendly tanneries that are contributing to the increasing level of pollution in the country. Furthermore, disagreements over costs and legal disputes(বিবাদ) between the government and factory owners that are at the core of the conflict must be solved if the relocation of tanneries is to actualise(বাস্তবে রুপ দেওয়া).

More private universities?
Make the existing ones adhere(মেনে চলা) to the law first.
WHILE it is true that the increase in the number of private universities is in response to a never ending demand for higher education opportunities, it is more important to ensure that standards at these institutions are maintained. In Bangladesh this has been a huge challenge with only 17 out of 52 private universities shifting to their own campuses, a basic condition of the Private University Act 2010. Even the University Grants Commission is not happy with the way most private universities are run; they lack qualified teachers, proper libraries and laboratories. The Government's decision to approve six new private universities, under such circumstances, is therefore, surprising.
Four of the six new universities will be in three other districts besides Dhaka, which ideally, would be a cause for optimism(আশাবাদ) given the need for opportunities for higher studies in the districts. But if these too, operate like many of the errant(ভাসমান) private institutions who have failed to provides the facilities they are obligated(বাধ্য করা) to do, it will only add to the misery(দুর্দশা) of the students. Most private universities charge exorbitant(অত্যাধিক,গলাকাটা) fees to the students which can only be justified if they have satisfied the criteria(মানদণ্ড) stipulated(চুক্তি করা) by the law of the land. Such conditions must be met by these six new universities before they become fully operational(সক্রিয়).
When the government itself has castigated(শাস্তি দেওয়া) the private universities from time to time for their shortcomings(ভুলত্রুটি), the new universities would mean more of the same shortcomings if they do not comply(মেনে চলা) with all the rules and regulations of the said university act.

their government. We were ‘munificent’ as we are now, but they are becoming ‘supercilious’ to us. Now they are running the state with ‘makeshift’ strategies & making a ‘dearth’ of GDP growth. There is no ‘credence’ of their election, as they elected by
deceiving innocent peoples. But we don’t ‘repine’, we are just trying to put ‘appurtenance’ ‘fulminating’about their govt. We are just trying save the country
from the wrong decision of this ‘effete’ govt. Are we a ‘wizened’ political party of ‘nonentity’ or the
