কখনো কখনো কোনো Professor আপনাকে তাদের Lab-এ নেওয়ার জন্য অনেক বেশি আগ্রহ দেখাবেন এবং আপনার জন্য অনেক চেষ্টা করবেন। কিন্তু এমন একটা সময়ও আসতে পারে, যখন আপনার হাতে একাধিক ভালো সুযোগ থাকবে।

কেন?

কারণ আপনি নিজের Profile-কে শক্তিশালী করেছেন— CGPA, Research, Publication, Skills, Projects এবং নিয়মিত পরিশ্রমের মাধ্যমে।

তাই শুধু সুযোগের পেছনে ছুটবেন না।

নিজেকে এমনভাবে তৈরি করুন, যেন ভালো University এবং Professor-রাই আপনাকে তাদের Lab-এ নিতে আগ্রহী হয়। আপনার লক্ষ্য শুধু একটা সুযোগ পাওয়া হওয়া উচিত নয়। আপনার লক্ষ্য হওয়া উচিত নিজেকে এমন পর্যায়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া, যেখানে আপনি নিজের জন্য সঠিক সুযোগটি বেছে নিতে পারেন।

আজ নিজের ওপর কাজ করুন, যাতে আগামীকাল আপনার হাতে আরও ভালো সুযোগ থাকে।

গত কয়েক বছর ধরে একজন নবীন (early-career) গবেষক হিসেবে কাজ করতে গিয়ে এমন কিছু অভিজ্ঞতার মুখোমুখি হয়েছি, যা আমাকে বর্তমান অ্যাকাডেমিক প্রকাশনা ব্যবস্থা নিয়ে নতুন করে ভাবতে বাধ্য করেছে।

গত বছর আমি IEEE এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত ফ্রান্স ও তুরস্কে অনুষ্ঠিত ২টি আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলনের জন্য ৭টিরও বেশি গবেষণাপত্র রিভিউ করেছি। যারা গবেষণাপত্র রিভিউ করেন, তারা জানেন এটি শুধু কয়েক মিনিটের কাজ নয়। প্রতিটি পেপার মনোযোগ দিয়ে পড়তে হয়, বিশ্লেষণ করতে হয়, গঠনমূলক মতামত দিতে হয়। অথচ এই কাজের জন্য আমি একটি সাধারণ সনদপত্র বা আনুষ্ঠানিক স্বীকৃতিও পাইনি। মজার বিষয় হলো, এরপরও নিয়মিত নতুন নতুন রিভিউ করার আমন্ত্রণ পেতে থাকি।
তখন আমার মনে প্রশ্ন জাগে আমরা কি সত্যিই পিয়ার রিভিউয়ারদের অবদানকে যথাযথ মূল্য দিচ্ছি?

আরেকটি অভিজ্ঞতা আমাকে আরও বেশি হতাশ করেছে।

২০২৪ সালে দিল্লি টেকনোলজিক্যাল ইউনিভার্সিটি (DTU) আয়োজিত একটি IEEE-সংশ্লিষ্ট সম্মেলনে আমি অংশ নিই। IEEE-তে প্রকাশের আশায় আমি এবং আরও অনেক আন্তর্জাতিক গবেষক প্রতি গবেষণাপত্রের জন্য প্রায় $১৪০ মার্কিন ডলার করে ফি প্রদান করি। কিন্তু শেষ পর্যন্ত আমারটিসহ অনেক গবেষণাপত্রই IEEE Xplore-এ প্রকাশিত হয়নি।

যতটুকু তথ্য জানতে পেরেছি, ৬০০-এরও বেশি গবেষণাপত্র একই সমস্যার মুখোমুখি হয়েছে। যদি সেটি সত্য হয়ে থাকে, তাহলে সংগৃহীত অর্থের পরিমাণ $৮০,০০০ মার্কিন ডলারেরও বেশি হতে পারে। এরপর আমি একাধিকবার সম্মেলনের আয়োজক, বিশেষ করে ড. চৌধুরী ইন্দ্র কুমারের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করার চেষ্টা করেছি। কিন্তু কোনো উত্তর পাইনি।
আমি এখানে IEEE-কে দোষারোপ করছি না। তবে আমার বিশ্বাস, যখন কোনো সম্মেলন IEEE-এর নাম বা ব্র্যান্ড ব্যবহার করে, তখন অংশগ্রহণকারী গবেষকদের প্রতি আরও বেশি স্বচ্ছতা, জবাবদিহিতা এবং দায়িত্বশীলতা থাকা উচিত।

এই অভিজ্ঞতাগুলো আমাকে একটি বড় প্রশ্নের সামনে দাঁড় করিয়েছে—

**আমরা কি এমন এক পর্যায়ে পৌঁছে গেছি, যেখানে গবেষণার মানের চেয়ে প্রকাশনার ব্যবসা এবং অর্থনৈতিক দিকটাই বেশি গুরুত্ব পাচ্ছে?**

আমি এখনো বিশ্বাস করি, গবেষণার মূল শক্তি হলো সততা, স্বচ্ছতা এবং জবাবদিহিতা। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, সম্মেলন আয়োজক এবং পেশাদার সংস্থাগুলো যদি এই বিষয়গুলোকে আরও গুরুত্ব দেয়, তাহলে গবেষকদের আস্থা অনেকটাই ফিরে আসবে।

Excited to share that our latest research paper has been published in Engineering Reports (Q2) | Impact Factor: 2.9 | CiteScore: (3.9) | Wiley

Title: BioPest: An Integrated Deep Learning Driven Predator–Prey Framework for Early Pest Detection and Biological Control

What is BioPest?
BioPest is an AI-powered framework that goes beyond identifying crop pests. It combines deep learning, pest counting, and ecological predator–prey modeling to help predict pest outbreaks and support sustainable biological pest control.

🔍 Highlights:
1. 87.7% pest classification accuracy across 12 classes.
2. 96.3% pest counting accuracy.
3. Improved forecasting of pest and predator populations using a Hybrid Universal Differential Equation (UDE).
4. Supports smarter, environmentally friendly decisions for precision agriculture.

This work demonstrates how AI and ecological modeling can work together to reduce pesticide dependence and promote sustainable farming.

এই রুমে যতজন বসে আছেন, আপনারা যদি আগামী ১ বছর আমি আজ যা বলব সেভাবে কাজ করেন, তাহলে প্রত্যেকেরই দেশের বাইরে Fully Funded Scholarship নিয়ে পড়তে যাওয়ার সুযোগ তৈরি হবে।

এই একটি লাইন দিয়েই গতকালের ওয়ার্কশপ শুরু করেছিলাম।

কথাটা বলার পর মুহূর্তেই পুরো রুমের পরিবেশ বদলে গেল। যারা একটু আগে গল্প করছিল, তারাও চুপচাপ মনোযোগ দিয়ে শুনতে শুরু করল। কারণ সবাই বুঝতে পেরেছিল আজ শুধু অনুপ্রেরণার কথা হবে না, বাস্তবে কীভাবে স্কলারশিপ অর্জন করা যায়, সেটাই আলোচনা হবে।

অনেকেই মনে করেন, বিদেশে "Fully Funded Scholarship" পাওয়া মানেই অসাধারণ CGPA, টপ রাঙ্কিং ইউনিভার্সিটি বা বিশেষ কোনো পরিচয় দরকার। বাস্তবতা হলো, এগুলো অবশ্যই সাহায্য করে, কিন্তু এগুলোই সবকিছু নয়। সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হলো সঠিক পরিকল্পনা, ধারাবাহিক প্রস্তুতি এবং সময়মতো সঠিক পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া।

ওয়ার্কশপ শেষে ৩টি টাস্ক দিয়েছি—
১. নিজের একটি "Professional Personal Website" তৈরি করতে হবে।
২. "LaTeX" ব্যবহার করে একটি Professional CV তৈরি করতে হবে।
৩. আমেরিকার যেকোনো একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বেছে নিয়ে, নিজের Research Interest-এর সঙ্গে মিল থাকা একজন Professor-কে Professional Email পাঠাতে হবে।

আশা করি, এই ওয়ার্কশপে অংশ নেওয়া অনেক শিক্ষার্থী আগামী এক বছরে নিজেদের এমনভাবে প্রস্তুত করবে, যাতে খুব শিগগিরই তাদের কারও কাছ থেকে এই বার্তাটি পাই—

স্যার, আমি Fully Funded Scholarship পেয়েছি।

I am delighted to share that our research paper has been officially accepted for publication.

This journey began in 2024. After nearly 2 years of work, multiple revisions, and 3+ rejections, our dedication has finally found the right home.

I am deeply grateful to Monzu Sir for including me in his Master's thesis work and for this invaluable collaboration. My sincere thanks also to Professor M. Humayun Kabir Sir, Jahangirnagar University, for his time and insightful review of our findings.

Alhamdulillah, my Google Scholar citations have reached 50.

As an early-career researcher, this is a meaningful milestone and a great source of motivation. We know research is not only about publishing papers; it is also about contributing knowledge that others can use, build upon, and find valuable in their own work.

I am grateful to everyone who has read, referenced, and cited my research. Each citation represents an opportunity for knowledge sharing and scientific progress.

This achievement encourages me to continue learning, conducting quality research, and contributing to the academic community. I look forward to many more opportunities to grow, collaborate, and make a positive impact through research.
