The Department of English, Presidency University warmly congratulates Jannati Asad Ferdousi and Suborna Akter on their outstanding achievements at the ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ข๐น๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ โ where they claimed 2nd place in the Poetry Writing and Poetry Recitation categories respectively, competing against participants from 28 public and private universities across the country.

The Department of English, Presidency University, is pleased to announce the organization of a seminar titled "Career Guidelines for English Graduates" on ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ (๐๐จ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐๐), ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐:๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐:๐๐ ๐๐.
The seminar will be honored by the presence of distinguished guests. Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Siddiqui, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing & Development at Global Islami Bank, and English News Presenter at Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Kabir, Principal Advisor of Presidency University, will attend as the Guest of Honor. Mr. Sakir Hossain, Honorable Registrar of Presidency University, will also join the program as a Special Guest.

The Department of English, Presidency University, warmly welcomed its new undergraduate students to their first semester, Summer 2026, on Thursday, 7th May 2026. The orientation began with heartfelt greetings from the Head of the Department, Nazla Fatmi; Programme Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Shahnaz Akter; and Batch Adviser and Lecturer, Abid Ahmed. The introductory remarks were followed by an engaging session on the undergraduate syllabus and course structure. The occasion was marked by the freshers' enthusiasm, warmth, and camaraderie. We extend our sincere thanks to all faculty members and students for making this event truly memorable.

The Department of English proudly emerged as the winner of Pohela Boishakh Festival by achieving first position in this cultural event which was held on Wednesday, 15 April 2026. The Department of English is committed to nurturing students' cultural pride & sensitivity and celebrating a victory at the Pohela Boishakh Festival is a testament to that commitment. Cultural events like these enable our students to appreciate multicultural point of views in their classroom as well.
The Department of English would like to congratulate the students who made this victory possible through hard work and dedication. Heartfelt thanks goes to the Head of the Department and moderator of PU Cultural Club, Nazla Fatmi, for her constant guidance.
