The research team of the 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐅𝐆𝐒) at 𝐃𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐃𝐈𝐔) recently visited 6 coastal areas of Khulna and Satkhira, Bangladesh.
Here, the focus was to explore the impact of pregnancy outcomes due to consumption of saline water. At DIU, we firmly believe that understanding real issues requires stepping out of the comfort of air-conditioned rooms. To truly grasp, empathize, and tackle real-world challenges, we always try to engage with grassroots communities.

📢 Exciting News from the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) at Daffodil International University (DIU)

We are thrilled to share that FGS has been honored with the prestigious 2023 Grassroots Action Research Micro-grants from The Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA). ARA, consisting of global experts and supported by UKAID is dedicated to advancing climate resilience.

Our award-winning project focuses on supporting disadvantaged pregnant women in Bangladesh's coastal areas. Through innovative frugal technology and community-driven efforts, we aim to improve the health of these marginalized communities.

Prof.Dr. Md Kabirul Islam, our Dean of FGS, expressed gratitude for this recognition. Together, we're creating hope and health for Bangladesh's coastal communities.

In addition to the research team, a group of DIU students and graduates played a crucial role in collecting data on the ground, overcoming hurdles in a highly challenging and poverty-stricken community with determination and empathy. The study was funded by the Center for Disability in Development (Bangladesh) and the Christian Blind Mission (Germany). The findings of this study are expected to play an imperative role in promoting and enhancing disaster resilience and inclusion for people with disabilities in the face of climate change.
