The Office of International Affairs, ULAB is proud to celebrate the global recognition of “Global Talks”, which secured Rank 55 in Category A7 at the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026.

Global Talks is an international dialogue platform initiated by the Office of International Affairs to connect scholars, diplomats, journalists, practitioners, policymakers, and thought leaders from around the world in meaningful conversations on contemporary global issues, emerging ideas, culture, media, diplomacy, sustainability, innovation, and society.

This recognition reflects ULAB’s growing commitment to international engagement, intellectual exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global citizenship. It also demonstrates how universities can create impactful spaces for dialogue that go beyond borders and classrooms.

The Office of International Affairs expresses sincere gratitude to the university leadership for their continuous support and encouragement toward innovative internationalization initiatives. We also thank all speakers, partners, moderators, participants, faculty members, students, and collaborators who contributed to making Global Talks a meaningful and impactful platform.

Together, we will continue building bridges between ideas, people, and the world.

Excited to host Prof. Dr. Upol Ehsan, today at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.

Today’s session is designed entirely as a question-based conversation, rather than a lecture or formal presentation. We are privileged to host Prof. Ehsan, Computer Science Professor at Northeastern University and Berkman Klein Fellow at Harvard University, for a discussion on liberal arts, artificial intelligence, and the future of education and work.

We are also proud that he is recognized as the first Bangladeshi scholar to be named a Berkman Klein Fellow at Harvard University.

The Office of International Affairs, in collaboration with the Career Services Office, is pleased to announce a special career talk on:

“Preparing for Global Careers in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”

We are honored to host Zheng Li, Associate Professor, East China Normal University (ECNU), China a distinguished global scholar in vocational education, policy research, and human resource development.

Dr. Li has over 100 research publications, extensive international academic collaborations, and has contributed to national-level policy development in education. His insights on how AI is reshaping global career pathways will be highly valuable for students preparing for the future job market.

The Office International Affairs, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) successfully hosted an engaging session on “Study in Germany (Master’s & PhD)” in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service and Goethe-Institut Bangladesh on 2 April 2026.

We were honored to have Dr. Fabian Falter (Goethe-Institut Bangladesh) and Mr. Mahmudul Hasan Suman (Head of DAAD Information Centre, Dhaka) as keynote speakers, who provided valuable guidance on higher education, scholarships, and opportunities in Germany. Ms. Mayabee Arannya, PASCH Project Coordinator from Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, was also present at the session.

The session concluded with remarks by Ms. Jennifer Hossain, Director, Office of International Affairs, ULAB.

Following the session, our distinguished guests had a working lunch meeting with the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shamsad Mortuza, PhD, and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude William Genilo, PhD, fostering meaningful discussions on future collaborations.

The session will cover:

Overview of DAAD
- Study opportunities in Germany (Master’s & PhD)
- DAAD funding possibilities (Research Grants, Study Scholarships, etc.)

International Academic Lecture Series on ICT, Innovation, and Collaboration

We are delighted to share that Prof. Muhammad Golam Kibria from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), delivered a session at the four-day International Academic Lecture Series organized by Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Philippines, and co-hosted by ULAB.

His talk titled “IoT Today and Tomorrow: Emerging Trends and Opportunities” highlighted the evolving landscape of the Internet of Things and its growing relevance in academia and industry.

The interactive online session brought together over 200 students and faculty members from multiple universities and featured an engaging Q&A segment, fostering meaningful academic exchange and collaboration.

We extend our sincere appreciation to DMMMSU for this collaborative initiative and look forward to more impactful international engagements ahead.

We are pleased to share that Professor Jude William Genilo, Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) signed MoU with the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) on 29 December 2025. Professor Jude highlighted the importance of complementarity between universities in addressing complex global challenges.
