ঢাকা স্কুল অব ইকনোমিকস' বাংলাদেশের প্রথম ও একমাত্র উন্নয়ন অর্থনীতিতে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রী প্রদানকারী ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অঙ্গীভূত (Constituent) একটি বিশেষায়িত প্রতিষ্ঠান যা ২০১২ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠার পর থেকেই শুধুমাত্র অর্থনীতির বিভিন্ন বিশেষায়িত বিষয়ে ডিগ্রী প্রদান করে আসছে। এখানে বিশ্বের সেরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সমূহের পাঠ্যক্রমের সাথে সঙ্গতি রেখে উন্নয়ন অর্থনীতিতে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রী প্রদান করা হয়।
এছাড়াও ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিগ্রী হবার কারণে আমাদের গ্রাজুয়েটদের আন্তর্জাতিক পরিমন্ডলে রয়েছে উচ্চ শিক্ষার (এমফিল, পিএইচডি) অফুরন্ত সুযোগ।

ঐতিহাসিক ও বর্তমান বিশ্বের অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যা বা সংকটের প্রেক্ষাপটে অর্থনৈতিক চিন্তাধারা, তত্ত্ব ও তথ্যের প্রায়োগিক ও বাস্তবধর্মী সমাধান উপস্থাপনের নামই উন্নয়ন অর্থনীতি।
উন্নয়ন অর্থনীতিতে স্নাতক কোর্সের বিশেষায়িত ডিগ্রী উচ্চশিক্ষা তথা উন্নয়নশীল দেশসমূহের দারিদ্র্য নিরসন, শিক্ষা, আর্থ-সামাজিক অবকাঠামো শক্তিশালীকরণ, আয় ও ধন বৈষম্য এবং সামগ্রিক মানব উন্নয়ন তথা বিদ্যমান অর্থনৈতিক সংকট নিরসনে নিয়োজিত হবার জন্য ব্যাক্তিগত ক্যরিয়ার ডেভেলপমেন্ট (career development এর এক নতুন দিগন্তের উন্মেষ ঘটাবে।

আমাদের গ্রাজুয়েটেরা সাধারণত বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় কর্ম কমিশন (পিএসসি) এর অধীন গেজেটেড ও নন-গেজেটেড সকল প্রকার চাকুরি, আন্তর্জাতিক অর্থনীতি গবেষক, উন্নয়ন অর্থনীতি বিশ্লেষক, উন্নয়ন চিন্তাবিদ, উন্নয়ন নীতিনির্ধারক এবং আন্তর্জাতিক উন্নয়ন সংস্থা, এনজিও সমূহ (eg. World Bank, GIZ, JICA ADB, ILO, UNCTAD, USAID, UNDP, DFID, etc.) ইত্যাদি প্রতিষ্ঠানে চাকুরী করার সুযোগ লাভ করার যোগ্যতা অর্জন করতে পারে।

● Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗨𝗠 𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗔
Prospective candidates must satisfy the following academic requirements:
● Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or Equivalent: Completion between the years 2020 and 2023.
● Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Equivalent: Completion in the year 2024 or 2025.
● Grade Point Average (GPA): A minimum combined GPA of 6.00 (inclusive of the fourth subject), with a minimum of GPA 3.00 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations.
● International Curriculum (O/A Level): A minimum of five subjects in O Level and two subjects in A Level. Candidates must have attained at least a Grade B in O Level and a Grade C in A Level.
