ক্যাঙ্গারু নিয়ে মজার কিছু তথ্য
• পেছনের দিকে হাঁটতে পারে না: ক্যাঙ্গারুর শরীরের গঠন এমন যে তারা সামনের দিকে লাফিয়ে চলতে ওস্তাদ হলেও, কখনোই পেছনের দিকে হাঁটতে পারে না। এমনকি তারা তাদের লেজ না নাড়িয়ে নড়াচড়াও করতে পারে না।
• লেজ যখন ‘পঞ্চম পা’: ক্যাঙ্গারুর লেজ কিন্তু শুধু দেখানোর জন্য নয়। হাঁটার সময় তারা লেজকে একটি অতিরিক্ত পা হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে শরীরের ভারসাম্য রক্ষা করে।
• জন্মের সময় খুবই ছোট: একটি পূর্ণবয়স্ক ক্যাঙ্গারু অনেক বড় হলেও, জন্মের সময় একটি ক্যাঙ্গারু ছানা মাত্র ১ ইঞ্চি লম্বা হয় (প্রায় একটা জেলি বিনের সমান!)। এরপর সে নিজে নিজেই হামাগুড়ি দিয়ে মায়ের থলিতে গিয়ে আশ্রয় নেয়।
• ঘাম নেই এদের: ক্যাঙ্গারুরা মানুষের মতো ঘামে না। গরম লাগলে তারা তাদের হাত চাটতে থাকে। লালা যখন হাতের চামড়া থেকে শুকিয়ে যায়, তখন তাদের শরীর শীতল হয়।
• দুর্দান্ত সাঁতারু: শুনতে অবাক লাগলেও ক্যাঙ্গারুরা কিন্তু খুব ভালো সাঁতার কাটতে পারে! তারা শিকারির হাত থেকে বাঁচতে প্রায়ই পানিতে নেমে পড়ে।
