The Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Center for Research, Excellence and Development (CRED) at Dhaka International University (DIU), organized a workshop titled "Research Methodology: From Theory to Practice" on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the university's STC campus. The session was arranged for 8th-semester students to strengthen their empirical research and monograph preparation skills.
The event was graced by Registrar Professor Rafiqul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, and Director of the Student Advisor Office Professor Dr. Mohammad Shah Alam Chowdhury. Md. Fazlul Haque Polash, Chairman of the Department of Political Science, and Mili Rahman, Associate Professor and Joint Director of CRED, were also present to guide and encourage the students.
Led by Committee Chairman Assistant Professor Doel Akter alongside Lecturers Mujahidul Islam and Md. Yousuf Ali, the workshop featured training modules conducted by faculty resource persons Assistant Professor Asaduzzaman, Assistant Professor Md. Mehedi Hasan, Lecturer Mujahidul Islam, and Lecturer Salima Jannat Lyra.
The curriculum covered literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, citation standards, research ethics, publication channels, and monograph structuring. Through hands-on exercises, students gained practical confidence in data analysis and academic writing. Guests emphasized that developing rigorous research habits early prepares graduates to produce impactful, evidence-based scholarship for society.

The Center for Research, Excellence and Development (CRED), Dhaka International University (DIU) organized the “Research Grant Projects: Final Research Presentation & Dissemination Session” on 16 September 2026 at the Moot Court of the University.

The programme was hosted by Mili Rahman, Additional Director, CRED, and formally commenced with a welcome speech by Professor Md. Shariful Alam, Ph.D., Director, CRED.

The session was attended by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Zahidul Islam, Adviser Professor Dr. Ganesh Chandra Saha, Treasurer Professor Dr. A.T.M. Mahabubur Rahman, Registrar Professor Md. Rofiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Science Professor Dr. Sazzad Hossain, and Director of IQAC Professor Dr. Md. Serajul Islam, along with the Chairmen of all academic departments, faculty members, researchers, and invited guests.

Four research grant recipients presented their respective research projects. Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Based, Chairman, Department of CSE, presented “Blockchain-Based Electronic Voting Scheme with Biometric Authentication.” Arif Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of English, presented “Virtually Intensified Masculinity.” As-Sazzad Mahmud, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy, presented “Therapeutic Potential of Ophiorrhiza harrisiana Roxb. in Osteoarthritis: An Integrated Study of GC-MS Profiling, Bioactivity Assessment, and In-Silico Analysis.” Nurul Amin Siddiki, Adjunct Faculty, presented his research on “Climate Change and Crop Variety Loss.”

The presentations highlighted the researchers’ key findings and outcomes, followed by academic discussion and an exchange of ideas among the researchers, faculty members, and participants. The session concluded with appreciation to the research grant recipients and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the programme.

Seminar Highlights: Rethinking English Studies in the Bangladeshi Context 📚

Center for Research, Excellence and Development (CRED) in collaboration with the, Department of English, Dhaka International University, successfully hosted a seminar on "Rethinking English Studies in the Bangladeshi Context."

We were honored to have Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Ph.D., Professor at the Department of English Language and Literature, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), as our keynote speaker. He led an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on reimagining English studies to effectively address local realities alongside global challenges.

DIU EEE Students Present Conference Paper at IEEE SPICSCON 2026

Students from the D-39 Batch of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Dhaka International University (DIU), successfully contributed to and presented their conference paper at the IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Information, Communication and Systems (IEEE SPICSCON 2026).

The conference was held on August 13–14, 2026, at Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), Natore, with the paper being presented on the first day of the event, August 13.
