Gonitkonya - Bangladesh Girls' Mathematics Foundation

We are delighted to share Bangladesh’s result at the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad 2026 (EGMO 2026), held in Bordeaux, France from 9–15 April 2026. Bangladesh finished with a team score of 45, winning 1 Silver Medal and 1 Bronze Medal.

We are incredibly proud of our Gonitkonya, Monamy Zaman, for earning an Honorable Mention at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2025. Her dedication and love for mathematics continue to inspire us all. We wish her a joyful and fulfilling journey ahead in the world of mathematics.

We often receive common questions from our participants, such as "What is the syllabus for the Olympiad?" or "How should I prepare for the Olympiad?" Here is the answer:

সিলেবাস অন্যান্য সমস্ত গণিত অলিম্পিয়াডের মতো একই।
যদিও অলিম্পিয়াডের সেরকম কোনো ফিক্সড সিলেবাস নাই, আমরা প্রবলেমগুলোকে চারটা ভাগে ভাগ করতে পারি: জ্যামিতি(Geometry), সংখ্যাতত্ত্ব(Number Theory), গণনাতত্ত্ব(Combinatorics) এবং বীজগণিত(Algebra).

জ্যামিতি:

জুনিয়র ক্যাটাগরির জন্য ত্রিভুজ চতুর্ভুজ সম্পর্কিত বেসিক উপপাদ্যগুলো জানাই যথেষ্ট। সেকেন্ডারি এবং হায়ার সেকেন্ডারি ক্যাটাগরির জন্য অ্যাডভান্স জিনিস জানতে হবে।

এক্ষেত্রে জুনিয়র ক্যাটাগরির জন্য টেক্সটবুকের পাশাপাশি মাধ্যমিক জ্যামিতি বই দেখা যেতে পারে। অন্যদের জন্য মাধ্যমিক জ্যামিতি ও উচ্চতর জ্যামিতির পাশাপাশি Evan Chen এর লেখা Euclidean Geometry in Math Olympiad বইটি দেখা যেতে পারে।

গণনাতত্ত্ব:

জুনিয়র ক্যাটাগরির জন্য একদম বেসিক কাউন্টিং জানাই যথেষ্ট। অন্যদের অ্যাডভান্স কাউন্টিং (পারমুটেশন, কম্বিনেশন, ডিস্ট্রিবিউশন, ইনক্লুশন এক্সক্লুশন) এর পাশাপাশি পিজিওনহোল প্রিন্সিপাল, এক্সট্রিমাল প্রিন্সিপাল, গ্রিডি অ্যালগোরিদম এসব বিষয়ে জানতে হবে।

2. কম্বিনেটরিকসে হাতেখড়ি

সংখ্যাতত্ত্ব:

জুনিয়র ক্যাটাগরির জন্য বিভাজ্যতা, মৌলিক সংখ্যা এসব বিষয়ে ভালো ধারণাই যথেষ্ট। অন্য ক্যাটাগরিতেও এসব ভালোভাবে জানতে হবে। পাশাপাশি মডুলার এরিথমেটিক জানতে হবে। হায়ার সেকেন্ডারির জন্য Euler’s Totient Function, Fermat’s Little Theorem এগুলো জানতে হবে।

বই:
1. 104 Number theory problems
2. সংখ্যাতত্ত্ব ও কম্বিনেটরিক্স

বীজগণিত:

জুনিয়র ক্যাটাগরির জন্য (a+b)^2, (a+b)^3, a^2 - b^2 এগুলোর সূত্র জানা এবং বিভিন্নভাবে ব্যবহার করে প্রবলেম সলভ করা। সেকেন্ডারি, হায়ার সেকেন্ডারির জন্য ফাংশন, পলিনমিয়াল, বেসিক ইনইকুয়ালিটি সম্পর্কে ধারণা এবং ফাংশনাল ইকুয়েশন সলভ করতে পারা সাহায্য করবে।
