Uncertainty and problems surrounding Pre- primary education for indigenous population in Bangladesh.
Primary education in indigenous languages is one of the conditions in the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord, signed in 1997, In so doing, the government started distributing textbooks in five indigenous languages – Chakma, Tripura, Marma, Garo, and Sandri. The idea of including indigenous language in to preschool curriculum, reduce drop-out rate and retain cultural heritage. Government introduced indigenous language so that children can learn everything in their own language.
For several reasons, this initiative did not come into reality. According to the report, lack of resource, capacity and understanding the initiative is about to stop. In the Chittagong Hill Track(CHT),Bangladesh region teachers are using Bangla as a medium of instruction. .
