“আব্দুর রশিদ চৌধুরী” একজন সম্মানিত শিক্ষক। মৃদু ভাষী, সহজ সরল জীবন যাপন করেন। সুপরিচিত ‘আই.ই.এস উচ্চমাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়’। উত্তরা সেক্টর পাঁচ এর ছয়/এ-তে অবস্থিত। ১৯৮২ সালে স্থাপিত প্রতিষ্ঠানটিতে তিনি দীর্ঘ ২৯ বছর যাবত পাঠদান দিয়ে যাচ্ছেন। এছাড়াও ‘আইডিয়াল টিচার্স ট্রেনিং কলেজ’-এ বিশ বছর ধরে প্রশিক্ষণ দিচ্ছেন। তিনি ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া, নবীনগর জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি উচ্চশিক্ষা অর্জন করেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে।
যখনই দেখা হয় তার সাথে তিনি আন্তরিকতার সহিত খোঁজ নেন কেমন আছি। এত ভালো লাগে যখন আমায় “কবি” বলে ডাকে বা সম্বোধন করেন। শিক্ষকের শিক্ষক, বুঝদার ব্যক্তি যিনি জেনে-বুঝে কাউকে সম্মান করেন সত্যি চমৎকার লাগে, সুখকর লাগে! তার সাথে এলাকায় ঘুরতে বের হলে কত মানুষ তার খোঁজ-খবর নেন। তার ছাত্ররা তাকে দেখলেই বিনয়ের সাথে সালাম ও কুশল বিনিময় করে। তিনিও তাদের খবর নেন উপদেশ দেন। খুব অবাক হই তিনি প্রায় সকল ছাত্রদের চিনতে পারেন।
