Join us in welcoming Genevieve Maricle, a trailblazer in global development and climate action, as our esteemed keynote speaker. With an illustrious career, she is currently the Director of Global Development at the National Security Council, White House.
π± Genevieve's expertise spans diverse roles - from Senior Advisor for Climate and Environment at USAID, to Director of Climate Policy Action at WWF-US. She spearheaded WWF's climate ambition, led the America Is All In coalition (5000+ entities dedicated to climate action), and championed the Forest, Food, and Land Challenge for the Global Climate Action Summit.
π Notably, she played a pivotal role in USUN, working on the Paris Agreement, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and as a deputy lead U.S. negotiator.
π Her contributions extend to USAID, where she guided policy efforts on the 2030 Development Agenda/SDGs, Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development, and more. She crafted USAID's first Climate Change and Development Strategy and shaped strategic budget priorities for the Global Climate Change Initiative.
π Genevieve's journey includes a BA in mathematics and environmental science from Northwestern University, and a PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder in climate science policy.

Did we mention that CIC is a global community yet? Just this past weekend, thanks to Christian ADOH, we had 100+ participants gathering at a CIC info session in Benin.
All the perspective participants came from various departments of the University of Abomey-Calavi, including Renewable Energies, Agronomic Sciences, Water Management and Control, Software Engineering and Computer Security, and Food Technology at the University of Abomey-Calavi. Many of them have their own enterprises in Agribusiness, Waste Recycling, Renewable Energy and Energy System and Beverage.

Through the program, students will collaborate virtually on real-world problems, gain knowledge and skills through project-based learning, and create innovative solutions for organizations working to create a sustainable and equitable world.

Through the program, impact-driven organizations working in the field of climate change will propose a business challenge for diverse student teams to address. At the end of the program, they will receive free consultation that directly contribute towards their business needs as well as gaining international exposure and networking opportunities with students, industry leaders, and other climate-focused organizations.

Pavini is the Youth Engagement and Education Lead at Yunus Thailand. Pavini has supported social entrepreneurship training and development for youth in her previous experiences.
